Seeing I’m awake my owner puts me down and pats my bare ass affectionately, pushing me forward. As I move to the front door of his mansion... Steve. That’s his name... an expensive sports car pulls up and I stare at the driver, things falling into place. It’s John Harcourt, financial manager of Anthropet.

“John, I thought I told you we weren’t to meet in person until the acquisition.” Steve said in irritation.

“They’ve hired someone to investigate you. Luke Kelvin, a decent PI.” John says. “I just found out.”

I felt a pang of worry as I heard my name. Shit! They knew about me. But evidently not what I was doing.

“All the more reason not to turn up on my doorstep like this. It’s a little suspicious you know.” Steve observed.

John nodded. “Yeah. I know. But I had to warn you. I hear he is good and they’re paying him a lot more than seems reasonable. You have them scared.” He also seemed scared.

“I’ll own them by the end of this week. Paul will be out on the street and you’ll be my new general manager,” Steve said and that worried me more. I was here for a month. If he could do that so quickly and remove Paul how would I get my body back!? This changed things...
