Chapter 23 by TheTruePenguin TheTruePenguin

Do you reveal yourself?

Once More unto the Breach

You heard the van engine rev, and decided to go save the sisters again.

"Honestly Prue, you are the worst liar I've ever met, and I've met priests, chaplains, even a nun once. She's lying to cover for me, for what I tried to do." You interjected, as all three sisters whirled around to see you standing there, shock on their faces.

"And you are?" Andy questioned.

"Leo Wyatt, I'm the guy who got hurt last night when you and your partner decided to come in the wrong door at Quake." You couldn't help but snark back. Andy just ignored it, good cop instinct.

"And why would Pr- she be having to lie for you?" Andy asked, catching himself.

"Because I came here to, I don't know, maybe **** the piece of slime." You said, and although you refused to meet their eyes, you knew the shocked expressions were only growing.

"Sir, are you confessing to a crime?" Andy asked, his hand slowly creeping to his hip where his gun was holstered.

"Maybe, I don't know, I came here to just rough him up a bit but when I got here all I found was that woman begging some guy not to do this, then I heard a bunch of loud crashing, but I never saw the guy, I guess he didn't want to pick a fight with a guy." You supplied, although that didn't seem to alleviate Andy's concerns.

"I still fail to see how that's any of your concern, not that saving this woman was wrong, but I fail to believe you just happened to find yourself wandering through the neighborhood." You could see how Andy and Prue hit it off, they both seem to nearly instantly distrust you.

"I suppose I should start at the beginning if you have the time?" You asked, and at his nod, you began weaving the fantastical tale of how you and Piper found Brittany at the church and brought her back, how she said Stephan had grabbed her, and assaulted her, possible drugging her since she said he was shooting eye-beams, and she'd turned into an old woman. How Phoebe had had an appointment with the guy, and even though she'd canceled, he knew where her sister worked. How once their backs were turned, you left the manor and took a taxi here, only for the sisters to arrive shortly after before you could hunt the guy down.

Andy nodded along, his hand now off his gun as he jotted down notes on a little notepad, the three sisters looking at you with rapt attention by the time you'd finished.

"Well, we could press **** and battery charges, maybe even attempted ****, but since you didn't actually get the guy, I'll let you go with a stiff warning, next time you try some idiotic like this, trying using your brain and calling the police to do their job, instead of dishing out vigilante justice!' Andy growled out, walking away, paramedics having took the young woman from the sisters a short time ago.

"How did you get here so fast Leo?" Phoebe asked as you walked passed them, clambering into the back of the van.

"Like I said, I took a taxi. Now then, I think we need to have a chat about how just because I'm not a witch, doesn't mean I can't help you girls." You groused, slamming the door of the van shut behind you.

It was around an hour later as you all sat in the living room, Brittany already sent back to her home, thinking the whole incident was nothing more than a horrible nightmare, not that any of you corrected her.

Apparently tired of the awkward silence, Phoebe scooped up the TV remote, flipping it on.

"Come on guys, we manged to get through all this relatively unscathed, let's see if we can't add a little more luck into our lives." Phoebe said excitedly as you noticed what was on the TV.

"The lottery? Oh Phoebe, don't tell me you kept that ticket despite the warnings about personal gain in the Book of Shadows?" Prue admonished her youngest sister.

"I did, and I just won, there the numbers are, just like in my vision!" Phoebe exclaimed as she began rifling through her purse. "Now where did I put that ticket, I know it was just in here."

"Hey babe, I think Prue right on this one, personal gain isn't really a fight you can win." You said as Phoebe looked at you with lament, before finally dropping her purse back on the floor in front of you.

"More importantly, did you admit that I was right?" Prue asked with a thinly veiled smirk.

"Just this once, so you better mark it down because it won't happen again." You retorted.

"Well, far be it from me to let you be the bigger man, maybe you had a point about being able to help us when it comes to vanquishing evil creatures." Prue admitted as you returned her smirk.

Phoebe, however, was concerned with far more important things, "Well, at least I didn't take the tags off those dresses."

"Eh, keep them." You muttered as not only Phoebe, but the other sisters looked at you with confusion.

"Maybe it's a bit sexist of me, but I like it when all the guys look at me with jealousy because of how hot my girlfriend is. In fact, how about we go out tonight, we haven't got to have a proper date since you moved back. You can wear that black one that shows off your legs." You suggested.

"But Leo, those are really expensive, even just one would probably cost as much a several months rent, and I got five or six of them." Phoebe had a strange quiver to her voice that you couldn't place.

"Consider it an early birthday present then." You replied as you started to get up, only for Phoebe to pull you back down onto the couch.

"Okay, but don't think I won't get you back when it's your birthday. But right now, I have a much better idea, how about we just skip to the end of the date, where I take off that little black number and you can tell how sexy I look." Phoebe stage whispered into your ear as she hopped up, prancing upstairs with a smoldering look in her eyes.

As you chased after her, you heard Prue mumble to Piper, "Well, at least this whole witch thing is doing wonders for one of our love lives."
