An embarrassing breakfast

Halfway to the breakfast area, Brooke had a weird feeling of deja vu. Almost as if she was reliving a real-life version of the ENF dream she had had the night before.

But that couldn't be true. She had a dress on now, right? She had put it on in front of Nurse Rita herself and if there had been something wrong with it, then surely Nurse Rita would have said something. And Nurse Rita had said nothing.

So why did Brooke have the feeling that her dress was not quite on? That for some reason, she was becoming more and more uncovered the more she ran? Was she just paranoid from all the strange dreams she had been having? Yes, that was it. Paranoia. That and lack of sleep. And irritation from Margaret. That's right. It was just paranoia, lack of sleep and irritation from Margaret. Not to mention whatever weird vibe she got from Montana. So all in all, it was just paranoia, lack of sleep, irritation with Margaret and some weird vibe she got from Montana. It couldn't be anything else, could it?

So Brooke thought until she reached the breakfast area and opened the door to the dining room. The other girls had already eaten and one of them -- Montana, naturally -- was still working her way through a modest pile of pancakes. Then Montana saw Brooke at the door and smiled. Only to immediately frown.

"Er, Major Hottie," asked Montana, "I really appreciate the change in your wardrobe but don't you think you should be a bit more fully covered with Margaret around?"

"What do you mean?" asked Brooke.

But one look at the shocked expressions on the other girls' faces told Brooke the answer to her question before Montana could say anything. And just to be sure, Brooke looked down.

And saw that the bottom half of her dress had unraveled to the extent that there was nothing left of it below her waist. Heck, there was hardly anything left of it below her ribs.

Brooke tried to pull her dress down in order to cover herself more completely but it proved to be an exercise in futility. There just wasn't enough dress left to go around.

Well, at least I'm not totally naked, thought Brooke.

Then a voice from behind her cried, "So that's how you respect my rules about conservative dress in this camp!"

Brooke turned around and to her horror, saw Margaret Booth staring at her with an irate expression in her eyes. But that wasn't the worst part.

The worst part came when Margaret said, "Since you wish to be naked so badly, Miss Thompson, then you can just feel free to go naked for the rest of the summer. In fact, as long as you stay here in this camp, I don't want you wearing anything at any time. Including now!"

And with that, Margaret reached out and tore what was left of Brooke's dress off her body, leaving Brooke totally devoid of any clothing whatsoever.
