Mr. Kamp tells what he knows...

You continue to stare at Mr. Kamp, still sitting on the floor. You stare into each other's eyes, neither of you flinching, or backing down. Finally with a deep breathe, Richard Kamp looks away. “I had nothing to do with her disappearance. My wife said she found a note, saying she was going to her aunt’s house for two weeks.”

“Did you see this note? And when was this found?”

“No, I didn’t see this note. It was found three weeks ago, and that’s why she contacted Ms. Drew. Another reason is because my wife contacted her sister, and she said she left there two weeks ago.” His eyes narrow, “If you find her, and if you forget this little…incident, I would be very grateful.”

You raise your eyebrow, and glance at Nancy who considers then nods. “How grateful?”

“Ten thousand for you, and her college fully paid for two years.” He grins slightly, “Call it the Kamp College Fund.”

Nancy says, “That’s fine with me, Mr. Kamp. I think we’ll take it…umm…right Mr. Doe?”

You stare at her for a second. She probably wanted to just get out of there, as you remember something from your research on Ms. Drew. She already had a fully paid scholarship to Harvard or Yale. “Fine with me. You’ll forgive me for not helping you up. Still a little pissed the fuck off…It’s the way I’m wired. And it saw me through four combat tours in the ‘Stan and Iraq.” You get up and walk on over to Nancy, grabbing her bag as you do. She smiles at you shyly, then turns and starts walking towards the front door.

Walking towards Nancy’s car, you spot Emma running out of the stables shouting.

“Nancy, what’s up with that?”

“I don’t know, sir.” She looks to where she’s running and sees something hop over the fence in that direction. “Oh, sir, she’s chasing someone!”
