Chapter 3

Which best describes you?
Fun and outgoing
Bridgette reasoned that it would be best to describe her self as fun and outgoing. After all, superintendents didn't want a principal that was angry or an introvert, even though she mostly was. She clicked the button to confirm.
Her stats appeared for just a second and changed in the top corner.

If there was one thing Bridgette was all about, it was having fun no matter what. She practically dragged her husband to every party they could find, and she was always striking up conversations with new people. She shifted in the seat and readjusted her dress. She almost never wore pants, they seemed too boring and dull for her. Bridgette always dressed like she was ready to host a party.
Besides, outgoing was what she was sure a school would want in a principal. You didn't want anyone closed off and unapproachable. Being fun and outgoing was what she was all about. She'd met her husband at a party her sorority was hosting in college, a mixer with a local frat. She'd been a bit wild in her youth, and might have been a little too forward with him, but it all worked out in the end. She'd put her wildest days behind her, and these days she'd toned it down just a bit.
Bridgette smiled at the memory, but got back to the present. The next question awaited.
What's more important to you?
The Survey
What harm could come from taking a little online survey?
The deep web is a chaotic place where anything goes. Illegal programs and destructive code are all over the place, trapping those unwary enough to understand what dangers await. The deep web is so vast and dangerous, that no one knows what powers or programs might sit in the darkest corners. Some CIA agents report glances of what might be sentient AI with access to secret quantum computers in Israel and China, capable of affecting the world above in unimaginable ways. Sometimes, especially hazardous code finds a way out and leaks into the world above like escaped demons from hell. This is the story of how one of these rogue apps found its way into peoples' lives, changing them forever.
