Damien and Victoria made their way inside the gas station and were lead into an office area.

Damien was disappointed. This office was built for the gas station and not the type of business he ran. He literally had a filing cabinet...

His annoyance was nearly complete into the old man actually went to that filing cabinet and opened the 3rd (bottom) drawer. With an audible click, the filing cabinet dropped into the floor and the wall behind it lifted.

Damien inspected it as he walked down into the floor, there were some simple mechanisms using ordinary hardware from somewhere like Contractor Depot that made for a simple way to hide an entrance.

The old man. Waited until they were both in the floor before he cranked the filing cabinet back up into place.

“Falling away was simple enough, but I haven’t been able to get it to lift without this crank.”

“Still clever. I like it. Where does this pathway lead?”

“To your operations center. The gas station is a decent distribution point, but your office and the supply are actually located in that office suites behind it.”

“The little strip mall? With the laundry mat, tax service center and the nail salon?”

“I’m impressed you noticed all the businesses! Yes, your offices are under those businesses. However, there are only two exits from the offices. This pathway and the tax service center. All three businesses are legitimate and pay is rent. The tax service office is actually fairly profitable.”

“Interesting.”

Victoria spoke, startling Damien.

“I want to get my nails done.”

“Fine, whatever. Can it wait till after the tour?”

“Ya.”

They walked in silence for about a minute

Before they came to a large dwelling separated by walls and doors.

“This will be your work area. I hear it’s great and has everything you need, but I’m not allowed past this point. Best of luck you two.”

“Thanks.”
