“I believe so yes, that’s what it says on my name tag at least” she replied curtly “now is there something I can help you with? Or do you just enjoy standing there wasting my time?”

“Yes actually Ms Li you can. You see I am here on behalf of a group who were quite impressed by your work on project purity and would like your help on a separate project” you explain to her.

“You’re not really with the Institute are you? Brotherhood then?” she asked, nice and sourly.

“We’re completely independent” you assure her “we’re working on a project that should help feral ghouls regain their minds”

That seemed to grab her attention, as she looked up from her computer.

“I’d say you were mad, but alright what do you have in mind?” she asked.

“Well I can’t tell you the specifics, since I’m not a scientist myself but they’ve made good progress” you continue to lie.

“Hmm, well I’m afraid I can’t just leave the Institute. I’ve made a life here” she replied “so I’m sorry but I’ll have to decline”

“They won’t let you leave for a few weeks to work on one project?” you ask her “that sounds like you’re their prisoner”

She took a moment to consider this “you’ve got a point. I’ll ask Mother if I can work overland on a project. If she won’t let me I’ll make my own way there, if she will then I’ll be there tomorrow. Just tell me where”

“Mother?”

“Yes the leader of the institute” she explained. So in this world the Sole Survivor had a daughter instead of a son. That was interesting. You’d have to make a note for that.
