Just try to talk through it

"W-well um," Marie cleared her throat. "I do... of course I do, I have things to wear," she said, stopping short of approaching the window. That soft cuddly robe never looked so inviting, for more reasons than one, but to risk further exposure... "I was just... you know, getting ready for a bath and well... the flooding started happening." She blushed, digging her fingernails into the back of her head while she faked a laugh. "It's um... um... it's not a huge deal. I just have to mop a little water up."

Gwen's eyes shot wide, blushing from second hand embarrassment as Marie left her chest unguarded. She averted her eyes, settling on the mop that Marie selected. "Well um... aren't you going to get dressed?"

Marie glanced at the robe again, and the little trip she'd have to make. A breeze washed over her skin, still carrying a light glaze of sweat, underscoring the chill. "W-well um..." Her hand returned to covering her breasts. "Like I said, it's just a little cleanup, that's all! I still um... wanna bathe... so..."

"Right... right... I get it, why um... why bother?" Gwen gave a nervous chuckle of her own.

'Just leave,' was all Marie was thinking. Gwen was a loyal friend, always quick to lend Marie a hand and gave trustworthy advice, and had helped her in more than one jam before. But being naked around someone she knew and trusted was rapidly getting awkward. She didn't even want to talk about just reading the newspaper in the buff, or what she had just done outside. Knowing Gwen, she'd likely take over the whole cleanup task.
