John: I thought i heard someone in the waiting room back there mention someone he left behind when he died.

Doe: Oh yeah?

John: Yeah, someone he called 'Mygurl Friend Laura'. What a weird name. Is it common?

Doe looks at you for a moment, then falls forward laughing when she sees you're serious.

Doe: No, her name wasn't 'Mygurl', she was his girlfriend!

John: Huh?

Doe: A girlfriend is like...when a boy and a girl like each other different from normal friends, they become each other's girl or boyfriend. They do things like go to movies and dinner together and then they kiss and have...whispering and looking slightly downsex.

John: You lost me immediately.

Doe: I thought i would. Ok, so when a guy and a girl are boyfriend and girlfriend, they go do things together, and they start to really like each other and then they might like each other so much that they feel something called love for each other. PLEASE don't ask me to explain love, because i don't think i can!

John: It seems like i know what that is somehow. I don't know why, but its a familiar word.

Doe: Really? Cool! Anyway, yeah, thats what he was talking about.

John: Oh. But i still don't know what you're talking about.

Doe: What didn't ya get?

John: Whats a movie?

Doe: A movie is a...its like...its like watching people play pretend. They do something called acting, with varying degrees of success, and they act out a story.

John: Oh. And whats a kiss?

This one catches her off-guard, and she glances away as she nervously chuckles and tries to find the right words.

Doe: A-a kiss is when you....its kind of like you and someone you like take your lips and...um...sigh The truth is, i don't know. I mean i kinda do, but i've never done it myself. If i had someone here to help, i could maybe demonstrate, though i'd really rather not let just the first person i see be my first kiss.
