Mostly the Truth

“I...umm...” Caitlyn tried to begin, but fumbled as she thought about how silly her story would sound. “I...was just starting to do laundry, but I spilled detergent all over myself. So I took off the clothes I was wearing... and threw them in with the wash.” Caitlyn explained, her already reddened face burning with embarrassment. She gripped her breasts tighter as her roommates continued looking at her, with varying degrees of humor on their faces.

Hannah held back a laugh, and to Caitlyn’s surprise Gwen instead nodded in understanding. “I get it. Sometimes I just wash all my clothes, and take a shower. Then I’ll just hang around in a towel or something until they’re done.” Gwen stated, making Caitlyn feel slightly less out of the ordinary.

Tris’s expression hadn’t changed, and she seemed to have more questions. “Wait a minute. Then why were you hanging out in the living room? Couldn’t you have just went and grabbed a towel, or done work in your room?”

Caitlyn winced as she realized she’d have to spill her motives. The idea of being completely naked in front of her roommates, and then topping it off by revealing she thought it was fun and decided not to get dressed made Caitlyn’s stomach turn in nervousness.

“Or...do I?” Gwen thought, pleased with her own genius. A few moments were spent crafting a carefully worded lie to explain her decision to stay dressed as she was. She awkwardly smiled towards Tris, who had now taken a seat with a glass of milk, and was turned to face directly towards Caitlyn. “Well...I used the last towel on cleaning up a mess in the floor, and...”
