acceptance

I looked over again to where Paul once stood with James' wife Natasha. They had both left arm in arm, and were heading toward the area where the band was playing.

"Worried about your husband, dear?" Phillipa's voice cooed softly in my ear. "Don't be. Natasha's making sure he's well taken care of while you're with us. Let's just say he's going to blow his load more than one time tonight. Now come along while the night is still young. We have lots of things we wish to do to you, and with you."

"What do you mean he'll be well taken care of?" I feebly demanded. I felt like I was watching Paul for the last time as he walked away from me with Natasha.

"We mean he will be so sexually satisfied, he will forget he's married to such a young beauty as you" Galen retorted. "We'll even let you watch him in action, if it tickles your fancy. Or you can leave, right here and now, without him, and have both of your lives completely ruined by scandal. Either way, you're not leaving with him. Not tonight."

I knew he wasn't telling me everything. But he had told me enough to scare me into compliance. My career had just begun with James' firm, and something told me this man who claimed to be honourable could destroy James' firm, myself, and my marriage with the wink of an eye. I bowed my head in shame. "What is it you want me to do?" I reluctantly asked.

Phillipa smiled at me like a Cheshire cat, licking her lips in anticipation. "That's the spirit, my dear. Come with me. We'll pretend as if we're going to the powder room. Then Galen will follow after us in a bit."

I felt like a wild animal that had been trapped. I had ****, no say in any of this. Phillipa took me by he hand, and lead me through the crowd. I glanced around one last time in hopes of seeing Paul. Perhaps if I could see him, I could give him a sign of some sort to come after me. My eyes searched wildly for him, but he was nowhere to be seen. I knew at that moment my fate was sealed. All I could do was comply with their wishes, whatever they might be.
