Henry

The baby had finished feeding and had since gone to sleep, something Maya looked like she could use right about now. She lied back further into the comfort of her make-shift mattress as Vera systematically cleaned the from between her legs the birth had made with water and rags before Lara took him from his mother's arms.

"What's he called?" Asked Lara, now with a better look at the sleeping newborn.

"Henry," said Maya drowsily.

"That was our dad's name," said Lara who was cooing when the newly christened Henry's little hand made a fist around her ring finger. "I bet he'll grow up to be tall and handsome just like his daddy."

Lara looked up to you and her eyes glinted with emotions that might have been similar to your own, but just how she was so easily able to contain them was a mystery to you. She carefully repositioned the baby and held the bundled boy up to you, expecting you to take him in your arms.

You felt your arms shake. In-spite of all of your power, you are suddenly faced with something you are not emotionally or physically equipped to handle. Humans are stronger now, sure, but he's a baby. He could accidentally drop him or hurt him. Your godly power could destroy this pure little thing and then what would happen?!

In what felt like hours, you reached out and she depositing the bundle in your hands. You stared at the little boy, his face red and wrinkly, and then he opened his eyes. They were that kind of blue that all newborns had, but his starred straight at you, as if concentrating on you with heavy concentration.

Then he closed his eyes and nuzzled into your chest.

You sniffed as your face ached and your eyes leaked, a stream of tears falling out from your eyes as you nuzzled the baby right back.

"Henry", you say, unable to help yourself as you sobbed in-front of your friends and family.

"My boy... I'm so happy to meet you. I'm your dad."
