Talking to Ashley

"So..." Delia started, motioning for her daughter to enter. Ashley complies, following her mother over to the kitchen. Mr Mime was already hard at work, getting a pair of coffee cups ready. "What have you been doing, dear?"
Ashley's gaze shifted to the doorway. Eyes closed, a swirling twister of memories surged in. Try as she might, everything was a complete blur.
"I don't know..." she whispered, gaze back on her mother. "If I did, I would've come found you sooner."
Delia just nodded.
"Can I do anything for you?" the mother inquired, getting an awkward chuckle from Ashley. Her eyes open back up, an idea now in mind.
"We could go out?" Ashley suggested, the words just rolling on out.
Go out?
