Chapter 200 by robyna
What's next?
Well, shit!
Adrenaline poured through Rick's body, blood flooded his muscles getting him ready to fight. Bio-DNA was doing its job, cooperating with his normal bodily functions to prepare him for some cave-man situation. Except he wasn't a caveman and physical violence wasn't going to get him out of this mess.
A part of him wondered if they'd fixed this problem with the final version of bio-DNA or if they'd simply rushed the product to market leaving a ticking time bomb inside every customer.
He took a deep breath, exhaled and then turned to the microphone. "Give me five minutes," he told Tiffany. "We're not ready and if he leaves now, the shit will completely hit the fan."
He held out his hand to Nicki. "Let's see the phone."
Out of the corner of his eye, he watched Tiffany react to his request.
"Please, Mr. Hughes. I know this is a sensitive matter but if your wife was having an affair, it's important that we know this. It changes the whole nature of our investigation."
Dan stopped halfway to the door and slowly turned. "An affair?"
Tiffany toyed with one of the buttons straining under the impossible task of keeping her tits under control. "We have to consider two possibilities. First, she might have been attracted to one of the men assigned to guard her. Second, though, she might have been having an affair with someone else... and if so, the security team might have learned of the affair. If whomever was sleeping with your wife felt threatened by exposure, he might have decided to eliminate the risk."
Dan sat down. "You think she might have brought her death on herself."
"I'm terribly sorry," Tiffany said, pretending to misunderstand Dan's reaction as anger that anyone would think his woman would possibly consider sleeping with someone else. "I certainly don't wish to speak ill of the dead. But we do need to consider the possibilities."
By this time, Nicki had given Rick the phone.
He studied it. It was, of course, the latest model iPhone... Dan wouldn't consider anything that didn't exude prestige to potential customers. Dan had bragged on it in a staff meeting, letting everyone on the team know how much he'd paid for it and how it could take hours of video at a better-than-film quality. But Dan also sucked at technology. Rick didn't think he'd had time or skillset to use the biometric security system which means that they should be able to guess the password.
"What passwords did you try?"
Nicki shrugged, her plastic tits moving with her shoulders and not jiggling at all. "My name. My name with 11. My name with 12. I even tried mom's name although I doubt he cared about her that much since they were dating."
All right. He brought up the password interface and punched in a code.
The phone opened.
"What the--what did you do?"
"I used Misty's name instead of yours. He uses the same password on his PC and his phone."
"That bastard. Well, run the app and fix me."
It wasn't that simple. Repeated resets would be even more dangerous than the youth setting Dan had stuck her with. He turned to the uniformed cop who'd accompanied Nicki. "Is there anyone in your office who's a complete computer nerd?"
"Yeah, why?"
"I need someone to take a complete memory map of this phone. Then I need them to break it so he won't be able to use it again."
"He can download his settings from the cloud. And if we break his phone, the department will have to pay for it."
"We have about two minutes until a killer walks away. And you're arguing about spending a little money."
"He has insurance on it anyway," Nicki said.
"Fine. I'll see what I can do."
Nicki rubbed up against Rick, running her hands up and down his chest. "We're alone now. You can close your eyes and pretend I'm my mom if you want. Don't you want to fuck me?"
Does he want to fuck her?
