#92 (submissive route)

Jane and James enters into Doctor Cedar's clinic. It is an early appointment yet there are dozens of people in the clinic. Families of multiple ethnic backgrounds and individuals spanning a wide range of ages sit loosely collected in a sea of chairs sprawled across the reception floor. Jane checks in with Nurse Joy. Afterwards, she silently rushes back towards James. Sensing her anxiety, you grab hold of her hand and lend her your shoulder. In your embrace the passing minutes disrupt the tension in her mind.

"Jane, the doctor will see you now." Joy neutrally exclaims.

Upon standing, her courage seems to fade. Much to your dismay, she must go the next part alone. As she walks towards the doors she briefly looks back; as if to withdraw back into his arms and from the study entirely. She turns her head back just as quickly and proceeds without a second glance.

A nurse briefly examines Jane's blood pressure, weight, and height and gathers a full medical history before leaving her in a silent examination room. Before long, Dr Cedar enters the room and breaks the stillness.

"Good morning!" "Before I speak to you on the trials you are undergoing I need to speak with you on legal aspects" states Dr. Cedar.

Jane weakly nods.

"As the nature of the study is still experimental, do not speak with anyone on the subject unless they are subject to catering to your well being" he explains. "The gentleman you came in with, is he of such description?"

"Yes, partner" she meekly states.

"Good!" The doctor exclaims. "It helps us a lot to have a reliable person to observe you, especially when they care about your well being and medical compliance. But now to the medical aspect."

Dr. Cedar pulls a chart from the table left by Nurse Joy.

"Seems you are in excellent health. Good, good, good. So what we are looking at may have the risk of altering hormones. So we want to be on the look out for changes in energy or behavior and in addition watch your blood pressure. So we are going to be sending you home with a meter and at the behest of the study a glucometer as well." He briefly pauses, "any questions?"

Shocked at the speed of his delivery Jane can barely utter a simple "No."

"Then we will see you next week for lab testing!"

The doctor leaves the room just as quickly as he entered. Jane is sure he stated "Have a nice day!" But left confused with the whirlwind of motion she can't be sure. On her way out, a nurse hands her prescriptions messily scribbled on the pad and signed by Dr. Cedar. Jane meets back up with James and the two head towards the pharmacy next door to collect their materials.
