Someone has some explaining to do...
A Lecture on Vampires
"What do you mean, I may be a Vampire?" You asked confusedly. "I'm pretty sure I'd notice if I turned to ash or started to glitter in the sunlight." You pointed out, as Moka's face went red and she started to glare at you.
"First, never mention that horrible movie for misrepresenting all the Vampires in the world." Moka ordered irritably. "And secondly, Vampires don't turn to ash in the sunlight, we just don't tan very well." Moka informed the group.
Kurumu was the only one who didn't actually know at the moment that Moka was a Vampire, but you liked to think you did a passable job of looking surprised.
"Wait, you're a Vampire Moka? But you seem so... normal." Kurumu pointed out as Moka nodded.
"Yes, that's why I was wondering if Michael could be a Vampire as well." Moka started as she began listing off characteristics.
- "Traditionally, a Vampire has long, pointed fangs, his aren't as long as some I've seen, but that could a matter of breeding or other reasons.
- They also have white or silver hair, which he has.
- They're overwhelmingly strong.
- They typically have an aura of darkness that surrounds them.
- They need to drink blood at least once a month to sustain themselves.
- They have glowing red eyes.
- And finally, they're nearly indistinguishable from humans other than the hair and eyes, but those can be concealed via contacts.
You were impressed, even if Vampires were Moka's specialty to be able to list off all the defining qualities of her species was impressive. You noticed she didn't mention anything about their multitude of weakness however.
"I was actually referring to the fact that you don't seem arrogant or have any of those other qualities you mentioned." Kurumu muttered loud enough for you to make out, but you doubted the pinkette heard her.
"But wait a minute," You said, pointing at Moka, "You said you're a Vampire, but you have pink hair and your eyes aren't red either. Not to mention you don't seem to have a dark aura around you." You pointed out as Moka nodded.
"True, but most of that is due to this," She said, gently lifting her rosary which was attached around her neck," rosaries like this suppress a Vampires powers. If it were to be taken off, you'd see my hair would turned white and my eyes would be red, also my fangs would be much more pronounced. Even my power would seem much higher compared to mine right now." Moka answered before letting her rosary fall back against her chest.
"The fact that Vampires blend in so well with humans is one of the reason I suspect you may be on as well, since you said you'd noticed if you tuned into a monster. Technically speaking, not all monsters look like well monsters, some like Vampires, and Succubi from what I know, very closely resemble hmans even in our Youkai forms. You could've been in your Youkai form for so long it just seems like your human form." Moka lectured as you nodded, and for the first time you realized something you'd overlooked.
You didn't know to actually turn into your Youkai form.
"Well, that's all well and good, but wouldn't he notice having to drink blood every month?" Tsukune asked, finally adding to the conversation, apparently he'd been caught completely off guard that he may have met to powerful Youkai in as many days, even if he had, just not two Vampires.
"Not really, while drinking it fresh is preferable, he'd wouldn't have formed any really taste for it without something to compare it to. Also, if both of his parents were Vampires, or at least Youkai, they could've been dosing his food with blood without him knowing it. In fact, many of the things that would've revealed your nature as a Vampire could've been covered up by his parents simply desiring for him to live a normal life in hopes he too would want coexistence with humans." Moka said.
"But then why would my father leave, assuming my mother was human, surely he'd know without him around I'd be found out eventually?" You queried, and you realized at some point, you had forgotten that you were already aware of what Youkai you were, and had simply fallen into the notion that you may be a Vampire like Moka. It sent a strange rush through you to trick the three people with you, although you didn't exactly know why.
"Well, as I mentioned earlier, he my have wanted you to hurt humans, and simply helped you conceal your nature until you were old enough to handle yourself, or both of your parents may have been Youkai, and it was a simple split, or..." Moka trailed off, looking at the ground as she paused in her walk, the three of you mirroring her a few steps later.
"Or...?" Kurumu pushed.
"Or as he said, if his mother was a human, his father may have left for that exact reason. You see, Vampire blood normally overpowers the weaker human blood. But sometimes it doesn't the child comes out a pure Vampire, but rather a half-breed called a Dhampir. Purity f blood is one of the most important things in Vampire culture, so a child that is impure is seen a a sign of weakness and is typically ostracizes by other Vampires, not that I would do that!" Moka finished, quickly saying the last part with a raised voice.
"So you're saying it's my fault that my father left us." You mumbled before you felt a pair of hand trying to hug you, two cushy pillows pressing into your side as Kurumu sensed your discomfort.
"Hey, I told you I don't care about any of that blood purity stuff, you're my Mate now, and that trumps everything else in my mind." Kurumu said, and you gave a soft smile as you lightly kissed her forehead.
"So, is there any way to really tell if he's a Vampire?" Tsukune asked.
"Sure, you can wait and see if he needs to drink blood within the next month. You could give him a rosary as well which would suppress his powers. I could technically drink his blood, but if he is a Vampire it would highly improper." Moka whispered, although we could all hear her still.
"What do you mean it would be improper, I thought you didn't care about if he wasn't a pure blood?" Kurumu asked, sending a glare at Moka, who's face was slowly turning an interesting shade of red.
"It's not wrong, just very improper." Moka squeaked, actually squeaked, out.
"Huh?" It would seem for Kurumu's intelligence, she missed the boat on this one.
"Let me see if I can help you understand Ku, I would guess that drinking blood is somewhat of a similar experience to drinking certain fluids..." You trailed as Kurumu nodded in understanding. "What's more, I'm sure if a Vampire were to drink another Vampire's blood, it would be a very intimate ritual." Moka nodded this time. "And should probably be reserved for the privacy of said vampires, marriage bed." You finished, and with a small poof of steam, Moka fainted, Tsukune quickly catching her, although he didn't look far off himself from fainting.
"I still don't quite understand what the problem is though?" Kurumu asked as you resumed your walk, spotting the school in the distance as you neared it, Tsukune giving Moka a piggyback ride, although he looked near eruption, either from Moka's chest pressing into his back or his hands on her bare leg, or maybe a combination of the two, you didn't know.
"I mean, I wouldn't mind the consummation our ritual like that." Kurumu said, and you had to remind your that your girlfriend/Mate was a sexually deviant Youkai, as opposed to an innocent teenage girl.
"I think it a bit less the actually act itself, and more the people involved." You pointed out as Kurumu looked at you confusedly.
"What do you mean, I think Moka would be lucky to have a guy like you letting her into your bed." Kurumu pouted as you **** a smile.
"Think of it like this Ku, how would you feel if you met me, recognized that I was your Mate, and then another gu suggested that you have sex with him." You asked as Kurumu paused.
"I would never do that, your my Mate, I wouldn't even touch another man like that!" Kurumu exclaimed.
"Exactly, and if there's one thing I knew about Vampires already, it's that they're very prideful monsters. Moka would never think about tasting someone else's blood once she found her Mate, so to speak." You provided as the pair of you paused, glancing next to you noticed Moka's eyes twitch as some of Tsukune blush literally drained away.
"One things for sure, it's going to be an interesting year." You said, looking into the sky above you.
