You wouldn't lie about that.

"I wouldn't lie about that." You respond.

"I never really thought you'd look at me like that." She admits. "I am really sorry, Jack. I overreacted horribly. It's just this whole thing with Keith..."

"I know, I know." You say, stroking her hair. She sighs and lays her head back against your chest.

"How manic can one girl get?" She laughed slightly, but it sounded bitter. "One moment we're tickling and having a good time and the next, I'm tearing you apart."

"And don't forget pulling my boxers off." You say with a smile. "That was unexpected."

"Yeah, well, I am unpredictable." She looks back up at you with slight smirk. He smile fades as she takes a look at your cheek. "Oh Jesus. Look at that red mark."

"Huh?" You ask.

"I slapped you good, didn't I?" She whispers. "Oh man. That's going to look bad tomorrow."

"I've had worse. Remember Maureen from high school?" You ask.

"Unfortunatly." Melody says venomously. "What she did to you was borderline ****."

"What you did to her WAS ****." You remind her.

"Hee hee. Yeah it was." She giggled. It faded into a frown once more. "I can't believe I did that to you. I really lost my temper."

"Really, it's no big deal." You insist.

"Still, I should do something." She says, seemingly pondering her options. She bites her lower lip for a second, then leans up toward your face.

"Melody?" You ask. "What are you-?" You get cut off as she purses her lips then presses them against your stinging cheek. She kisses it lightly, leaving a slight outline of her lips on your skin from the lipstick she had on.

"There. Kissed it better." She said softly, giving you a kind smile. You exhale a breath you had been holding. It was just a peck on the cheek, but it felt amazing. You look down into her eyes.

"It still hurts a bit." You mumble clumsily, giving her a goofy smile.

"I'm sure it does." She gives you a sardonic smile. Regardless, she leans up and gives your cheek another kiss, this one lasting longer than the last. As she retreats from the side of your face, you grab her arm. She successfully stop in place and meets your gaze.
