Explain to her mom

“Rose? Are you there?” Her mom called up inquisitively.

Rose sighed, and tiptoed over to the door. “Yeah, I’m here” she spoke nervously.

“Oh, Good. Come down and help with the groceries.” She said dismissively. Rose’s mom began to walk back towards the garage.

“I-I can’t!” Rose exclaimed.

“...Why not?” Rose’s mom asked confused.

Rose looked down at her bare legs, which were barely hidden behind the doorframe from her mom’s view. “...I don’t have any pants!” she responded quickly.

Rose’s mom shook her head. “Look, the garage is closed anyway. I don’t care if you’re in your PJs, just get down and help!” she said, now a little annoyed.

“No, I mean I don’t have ANY pants. I’m not even wearing any. All my pants are downstairs.” Rose said, embarrassed to reveal her state of dress.

Rose’s mom blinked a few times, and shook her head.
