Chapter 3 by Grobnar

Sheva investigates and makes a new friend.

Hall’s Creek. This is where it happened. Sheva thought as the tiny plane circled once before coming in for a landing. Hall’s Creek Australia to be precise. A remote town that had all the check marks for being an Umbrella Black site. Bizarre history: check. Largely abandoned section of town: check. Meteor impact crater nearby: check. It seemed obvious now, but at the time they didn’t know any better. Sheva covered a cough.

“You’re clear.” Her pilot stated as the plane came to a halt. Sheva nodded and **** the door open; hauling her duffel bag of gear out the cramped interior. Nearby, a woman leaned against a BSAA truck. Must be my new partner. She thought as she walked over.

“Sheva Alomar.” She extended her hand. There was something familiar about the woman. She had reddish brown hair and was dressed with a brown leather jacket and blue jeans.

“Claire Redfield.” The woman shook her hand.

“Are you Chris’s sister?” Sheva asked.

“Yep. Seems to run in the family.” Claire smiled, “Off we go?”

Several hours later, the duo had found a site they both deemed reasonable and began to search. The abandoned section of town was just that: abandoned. One structure seemed to loom larger over the others; the abandoned hospital and for no reason that either of the two ladies could think of. Perhaps it was the largest in the area, but the several stories tall building made no sense for a town of less than 2,000. Claire and Sheva approached a solid door deep in the basement. Along the way they had passed a sign declared that the hospital was proudly sponsored by the Umbrella corporation; another clue as to the misdeeds contained within. The lock however had long since rusted out and a solid tug sent it to the earth. Claire looked down at the crumbling handle, "Did Umbrella just build every bloody thing abandoned?"

"Heh, you get used to it. Your brother said the mansion in the first incident was creepy, and it was supposedly used before. It might of been nice if the undead weren't crawling all over it." Sheva replied

"Were they all bad?"

"Leon said the medieval castle he ran through in Spain was damn creepy too. Those old buildings seem like something's always watching you."

"I'll make a note of that. Maybe there'll be a hot tub in the therapy rooms."

"I'll be sure to check." Sheva chuckled. Thoughts of Claire out of that tight suit and in a bikini or better yet naked filled her mind as he checked the door. Down south her small dick responded to the thoughts. Sheva shook her head and pressed a hand to the entrance. "It's cold.”

“It is nighttime.” Claire checked her watch.

“Onward?”

The American woman nodded and raised her pistol. "Ready."

With a mighty shove Sheva slammed into the door. It didn't budge at first, but quickly relented to the onslaught. The sudden movement of door caught Sheva off guard. She tumbled forward slightly before halting herself before a large rock.

Claire laughed as she picked himself up. "Good thing that wasn't a zombie."

"Funny." She tapped her radio. “No signal. Not that anyone is here anyway.”

Sheva pointed to a light. “Looks like a cabin in the distance. Where are we anyway?”

“Not sure. Let’s get to the cabin and get our bearings.”

“Agreed.”

Sheva followed Claire’s svelte form towards the cabin. The entire time she stared straight ahead or off to one side; not daring to look at Claire’s perky ass as it shimmied in her jeans. Claire carefully opened the door, afraid that laughing at Sheva earlier may have karmic consequences. The entire building appeared to be empty however. The wooden cabin was lit up and a fire was roaring in the fireplace. Claire holstered her gun, "Strange."

"Sorta.” Sheva explained, “That's an LED light. Supposed to last hundred thousands of hours and a gas fireplace. Someone most of left in a hurry. Leaving this stuff on is just stupid."

The other woman checked the backroom. "When's Umbrella done anything smart? Nothing here."

"Alright, let's hold up here and see where we are." Sheva was interrupted by a dull thud of something outside. They both raised their guns and silently crept to the door. Both instinctively took places around the door. Sheva nodded to her partner and Claire ripped the door open while the infected woman slid through, gun leveled. "Odd."

"Nothing there?" Claire peeked her head around the door.

"I didn't say that." Sheva stepped out for a moment and returned with a small cardboard box. The box was beaten and looked like fell down from a great height, bouncing the entire way. Sheva set the box down onto the table and went back to the fire. As she did, a great gust of wind rocked the building and dust flew in through the open building. Claire quickly dogged it shut. “Sandstorm. That explains the signal loss.”

“Looks like we’re not going anywhere for a while.”
