Any problems?

Two dogs, an irate husband and a biting child

Chapter 86 by robyna

After four hours at Staples, Rick had a flyer that highlighted the Tough Women vibe, had a definite 'film noire' feel to it, and promised a money-back guarantee if the customer was less than 100% satisfied. He wasn't big on 'free' because people tended to think of free things as being worth what they paid for them but money-back seemed to work.

Two hundred full color flyers on card stock took most of Kat's money but it was enough to start.

He headed for Willow Bend, a neighborhood of mc-mansions in west Plano, walking to each door and carefully delivering a copy of the flyer to the few people who actually opened their doors, leaving the flyer attached to the doorknobs when they did not or when they had 'no solicitors' signs out, which most of them did.

He'd delivered four flyers before he hit his first snag. The door opened and a large pit bull lunched at him.

The Rick of a week ago would have stumbled backward, fallen, and gotten bit for his troubles. The new, bio-DNA-enhanced Rick caught the slavering dog by the muzzle, squeezing down hard enough to keep the dog under control while he reached for the non-existent collar.

"What the hell are you doing to my dog." The speaker was a thirty-something male business executive who apparently had just gotten back from the links.

"Who is it, honey."

"Some asshole delivering flyers. What the hell, dude. Did you not see the 'no soliciting sign.' It's a good thing Bruno here didn't take off your hand.

"Speaking of taking off my hand, perhaps you'd like to control your dog. And there was no sign outside your beautiful home."

Speaking of beautiful, an attractive Asian woman who might be twenty but then again might only be in her teens stepped around the corner.

"We already have a lawn service," golf-man stated. "So move along before we call the police."

"Of course, sir. Again, perhaps you will control your dog first. I'm not sure it's safe for me to let him loose."

"Let me take him." The Asian woman smiled at Rick, then picked the big dog up by the stomach, letting Rick snatch his hand out of range.

"Kat's Gym and Boxing Emporium for Capable Women is celebrating its grand opening." He set one of his flyers on the ornamental receiving station. "Female owned and staffed. Party tomorrow night."

"Get the fuck out of my house," golf-man said.

"Of course, sir. Hope to see you there tomorrow at seven," he said to the Asian lady.

Another angry dog and a biting toddler added a little excitement to the rest of his deliveries.

He had a few more and decided to make a little detour to McKinney where his ex-boss lived.
