Rick was in Jan's driveway opening his car door when his phone rang.

Caller ID said it was Kat so he answered. "Yeah, boss."

"Who the hell is this?" The voice was male, angry, and definitely not Kat.

"Who are you and why do you have Kat's phone."

"I'm her boyfriend and I want to know why you've been calling her."

Time to tell Kat her boyfriend was a jealous asshole. Not that he didn't have reason to be jealous. Rick had to resist the temptation to tell the boyfriend the truth. He'd be doing Kat a favor to get this loser out of her life. On the other hand, Kat was a grown woman and she wouldn't appreciate it if he decided for her when she should break up with this loser.

"Ah. I'm Rick. Kat and I have been discussing my going to work for her at her new spa. I'm a massage technician."

"Oh. Well..." The boyfriend sputtered for a few more seconds. "Look, I'm not normally an jerk but Kat headed off last weekend without telling me and--"

"No offense but you should be apologizing to Kat, not to me. I'm just the employee."

"Yeah, right. Uh, thanks for the advice."

Rick hung up, got in his car, and drove to the gym Kat had described to him.

It wasn't quite as horrid as he'd feared but it would take some work before it would be ready for the wives and mistresses of the super-rich, which was his target. Still, it had potential.

He texted Kat, telling her that he was ready to take the massage job she'd offered him (in case the boyfriend was still holding onto her phone), then had to decide what to do with the rest of his morning.

The way he figured it, he had three options. He could start working bio-DNA by looking up either his secretary Amy or that H.R. manager, Pricilla. Second, he could try to hook up with Eliza and see where her morning orgasm had left her. And third, he could try to find the outplacement woman.
