You and Benz reconnect

After saying your goodbyes with the doctor, you stepped out of the room and was greeted by a worried Benz pacing nervously outside the door.

"Missed me, already?" you teased your new partner-in-crime.

Seeing you, the expression on Benz's face softened and without saying anything else, he pulled you into a tight hug.

"Just shut up, ok?" remarked Benz as he leaned into you and pressed his face against your hard chest.

Enjoying the warmth of Benz's body against yours, you smiled back at Benz and agreed, "Okay."

After leaving the clinic, you and Benz quietly strolled around the nearby surroundings and ended up at the neighborhood park where you both spent much of your childhood together at. Falling quickly back into familiarity, the two of you reminisced about the past, both the good times and the bad. And it was in those moments that you suddenly remembered how much the both of you had in common which each other and how much you actually enjoyed his company (if he wasn't being a jerk about it). Looking back, a part of you now regretted that you parted ways with him before.

Benz was finally the first to break the silence between you.

"I'm sorry," he managed to eke out, "I know I've been a massive douche to you this past few years. Team rivalry aside, I think I deliberately pushed you away because I was too proud to admit that I-"

Benz took a deep breath and finished his sentence, "I liked you more than just a friend."

"Liked. Yes, it's in past tense because I did stop liking you sometime ago. Or at least, that's what I believed," continued Benz as he poured himself out to you, "But last night made me realize that a part of me still does. I still like you, Lex. It's not love yet but it could get there if you'd have me."

"I don't expect you to like me back but I thought it would be important that you knew how I really felt if we were going to carry each other's children," closed Benz as he took your hand in his.
