Yes she makes it on time.

Jade mentally debated with herself whether she could tell anyone what she was told about Mike. It wasn't like Jason flat-out confessed to doing anything physical to Mike, but he definitely didn't have anything good in mind for 2 pm, much less what he would do if she didn't make it on time. She had her eyes often fixed on the clock, waiting for 1:30 when the last day of classes before final exams ended. Her mom wanted Jade to stay until 3 to study in the library. She would come and pick her up, then take her back home to get ready for a celebratory dinner.

Eventually, the half day was over and Jade headed to the library. Her plan was to wait inside where there was air conditioning and then go behind the library to meet Jason. Jade opened her notebook and read through it until five of two. Once the time came, she put away the book and went outside to the back of the library.

Jason was standing in the shade of a tree, browsing Mike's phone. Jade approached him, angry but secretly afraid.

"What's the big idea?" she said sternly.

Jason tried to play coy, "Whatever do you mean?"

"Give his phone back. He never did anything to you."

"I can't do it now. He's got studying to do."

"Jason," she put her hands on her hips, "I'm sick and tired of you picking on him and now you've taken his phone too? Where do you get off?"

"Funny you should ask. That's why we're here."

He held Mike's phone in front of her and explained "You're right. My friends and I have been unfair to him. I'll give this back and leave him alone. However, I have one condition."

Jade raised her eyebrow, though she was more than certain she could already guess what the condition would involve.

He continued, "My team's having a game tomorrow at one. I was hoping you could come at noon and, let's say, motivate us."

Jade was disgusted by the proposition, and not just because it would still be statutory ****.

"And if I don't?" she inquired.

"I've been leaving his photo library alone, believe it or not, but I'd love to see what photos you sent him."

"You're blackmailing me?"

"Did I say that's what I'd do with the photos? **** would mean I post them online. I just wanted to see them. Don't give me any ideas."

He told her he wanted an answer by the end of the day before heading off elsewhere.
