Eddard defends his actions.

"I couldn't let Robert live after what he'd done." Eddard explained. "After how he'd hurt Sansa."

"And with Robert dead, Ned needed to step forward. To become king." Cersei continued coolly. "It was the only way to ensure our survival. The safety of both our families."

"With that role comes certain responsibilities, certain requirements. Cersei is Queen, but you are my Lady." Eddard continued. "We'll have to work together if we want to get through this situation."

"This situation you brought about, Ned." said Catelyn. "Tell me, when you took Cersei into your bed, was it before or after you killed Robert?"

The blonde lioness beside Catelyn cocked an eyebrow. How did she know?

"A wife knows these things." Catelyn insisted. "When you fucked Cersei, was it before, or after?"

Eddard couldn't lie to her about this. Crossing his hands behind his back, the new king spoke:

"It was before."

Catelyn remained stone-faced. Turning, the lady of Winterfell made to leave the room. At the door, she paused, looking back at Eddard.
