Follow Betty's experience

A burning desire for a strong alcoholic drink is suddenly emerging in Betty's mind. Initially, her sense of duty tries to suppress it, but to no avail. Reluctantly, she realizes that she cannot give her lesson without a little drink today. But then, after her reason has surrendered to her subconsciousness, she acts with great determination. Spinning around on her heels, she rushes back to her Toyota and roars out of the parking lot in a few seconds. Her destination is Beryl Wilson's liquor shop, which she hasn't frequented in years. But this is an emergency! When she reaches the store, Betty carelessly parks at the curbside and hastes inside. She is a little astonished when she finds the owner behind an impressing array of open wine and champagne bottles, apparently a little tipsy herself. But for Betty in her present state, it is a vision of delight. "Hi there", she greets the shop owner casually. "I need two cartons of wine at once. Give me what you have at hand. I don't care about taste or price." - "Shus as ya want." Beryl shrugs absent-mindedly, slides from the bar stool, hiccups and grabs a random wine carton. While she is looking away, Betty helps herself to a big sip from one of the open bottles on the counter. "Hey! Wadda you doin?" Beryl protests. The teacher blushes. "Sorry, but I couldn't resist." - "Oh, never mind. I don't care a fugg today. Sheers!" Clinking bottles, the women drink greedily. Then Betty carries her cartons outside to the car, one after another, because she is beginning to feel dizzy. "What do I owe you?" she finally asks after another sample from the counter. But Beryl doesn't care at all. "Shus gimme twenny bucks", she murmurs. "The resd is onne house." - "You're generous!" Betty pays and waves her goodbye, and Beryl hands her an open bottle as she leaves. "Here, haff one for the road, old gal!" the tipsy woman giggles foolishly.
