While he'd already proved that he could trade physical objects for actions by having Sam come to his room in her nursing outfit, he wanted to check if he could trade "the chance to do something" for another thing. This way he came out completely on top no matter what he had physically to trade.
Sam was still in his room, but he wasn't ready to go all the way just in case and because it would feel like a violation of trust. He pondered for a moment. What could he ask?
"Sam, can I trade you the chance to give me a back rub for your necklace?" He decided on her necklace just in case it wouldn't work, as it was personal to her so she wouldn't give it away normally, but she wouldn't be offended or startled by the request if it didn't work.
Max watched carefully for her reaction as this affected how he used this newfound power. Sam just took off her necklace, her green eyes full of inquisition. "When do I get the chance to give you a back rub? Is it now, anytime I want, or some specific time?"
Max breathed a sigh of relief and his mind raced. Now that he knew that would work, the possibilities opened up a ton. "Now works, " he said, lying down on his stomach on his bed. Her fingers kneaded the taut muscles of his back as he continued to dream of the possibilities. She continued to massage him as he fell deep into actual dreams instead of daydreams.
