With the girls gone and the hotel room to myself, I do as I’m told and go and wash off the sweat and sex stank from the night before. Walking into the bathroom that Piya has left cloudy like a sauna I first notice a quick message written into the fogged-up mirror. I throw a new plush white towel over the glass shower frame and step in. The water already run hot through the pipes when I turn the faucet on. I let it flow over my face and head as it runs through my hair. I have plenty of time to make sure to scrub my body extra clean with the many different soaps and lotions provided by the hotel. Dressed, I grab my wallet and hotel key and head to the lobby. I have the concierge flag down a taxi for me and make my way to the events centre. “I wouldn’t miss it for the world,” I tell her in all honesty.

“Good, well I saved us some seats,” indicating the chair next to her with a pat on the padded material.

I go to take my seat next to Candace when, as I sit down, I can’t help by glace down her ample cleavage spilling out from her silk blouse. Down in between her amazing surgically enhanced breasts I spy a solitary dollop of pale creamy goo.

The host of the panel talk introduces himself and then each of the speakers in turn. Piya and I make eye contact once again as he introduces her as a “brilliant and exciting researcher destined for big things with some incredible new discoveries already in such a young career.” Piya’s face blushes at the praise and my eyes glow with pride no doubt. From the ordering of the introductions, it appears as if Piya will be the last to speak and rounding out the seminar.

The first three speakers present with varying levels of confidence in public speaking. Their research most likely interesting and groundbreaking but lost on someone as myself. I’ve come to listen to one person and one person only. At last its Piya’s turn to present, she shots me a quick glance for confidence and then is the picture of composure and confidence as she gets up and makes her way to the lectern. A small raised table with a microscope brought out onto the stage and placed beside her.

As Piya begins her talk a power point presentation loads up on the big screen behind her.

“Good afternoon and thank you all for coming. Let me introduce myself as Piya-with-the-unpronounceable-last-name. Don’t worry about the spelling as there are far too many letters to fit onto the slides either.”

The crowd give a good-natured murmur of laughter at Piya’s introduction.

“I will be speaking today on the outcomes of my findings in a pharmacological and physiological perspective when scientific method and research is applied to traditional medicines of my birth country. I originated in Thailand and was brought up around traditional healers and medicine women.”

Piya’s next words bolt me to my seat, her head never turning my way as she continues to address the crowd.

“Being diagnosed as infertile at a young age, I applied myself to my studies in the hope of one day finding a cure to my own condition. Reaching back into the knowledge of my ancestors a traditional herbal treatment known amongst my people as ‘Women’s Secret Friend’ was supposed to assist women to conceive as well as being a libido enhancer. Through analysis and refinement of the traditional herbal medicines, I was able to insolate four compounds that when concentrated appear to have synergistic effects on par with those of **** such as Viagra and Cialis but with increased effects of between two hundred and four hundred percent. Continuing onto the second half of her talk, the room is awash of whispered chatter as many of the people from the **** companies Piya and I met previous discuss her findings.

“What was of greater interest to myself was the effects these compounds may have on treating infertility in couples, not just myself. Here you can see the motility of a traditionally normal male sperm sample,” Piya brings up a video embedded in her talk showing the expected waving little tadpoles of sperm cells, “motility rates of thirty percent are considered healthy with counts greater than 39 million per ejaculate.”

Stepping towards the microscope, Piya switches the presentation from her power point to a live video of the microscope ocular lenses. Taking the specimen jar Candace collected from her leather tote bag. Piya uses a pipette to drop some of the liquid onto a glass slide.

“Here we can see a sample that has been treated, post collection, with the four compounds of interest.”

I’m entirely sure my sample wasn’t treated with anything post collection and is a result of my previous exposure to Piya and her white power.

“This individual appears to be very healthy indeed,” a light red colouring going to Piya’s checks at that, “but with exposure, we can see an increase in motility of close to 99 percent.” Piya takes a micropipette and drops something onto the glass slides surface she is working on, “her we can see with the addition of human oocyte attractant hormone, the effect on the sperm which believes they are in close proximity to a female’s egg.” The sperm without fail have all turned in the same direction and are rushing towards the same direction. Many thousands of them darting across the screen like a swarm.

The crowd of medical people in attendance give a collective gasp at the effect the compounds have had on sperm. I find myself beginning to dawn on the incredible importance of what Piya has been working on.

Piya returns to her power point presentation. “In conclusion with further funding and research, I believe that we may have discovered a potential new avenue for an extremely exciting area of development in the treatment of infertility as well as a number of new **** that could be made market ready in a short few years with correct clinical trials.”

Piya finishes her presentation with her contact details and information up on the screen which is taken down hurriedly by a large number of the audience and takes everyone for their time and attention. Returning to her chair she is treated to a round of rapturous applause. Her eyes fixed down on her hands and not one look to the crowd and myself.
