"It's okay."

"It's okay." You whisper. "I'm okay, really. You have nothing to be sorry for." It hurt to move your mouth and you rub your sore jaw gently. "I've been needing to go to the dentist anyway."

Melody sniffs and laughs lightly before throwing her arms around your neck. "I was so shcared..." She whispered. "I dunna want ya ta be hurt. I was 'fraid Keith was gunna really hurt ya."

"I know. I know." You say softly into her ear. She shudders and holds you closer. That is until you feel her being pulled away.

"You bitch!" Keith snarls, pulling her toward him. He was still on the ground, but had crawled closer to you. "I'm going to really have my way with you for that one!" Melody whirls around quickly and punches Keith in the face hard. Keith's nose exploded in a mist of blood as he let out a high-pitched wail and fell back to the ground.

"I've ben wantin' ta do that all night, you pig!" She shouts at him as he rolled around, holding his nose. "An' now it's shelf-dafense!" You laugh heartily at Keith's wailing figure and try to stand up. It proves to be a dumb move and you stumble back to the floor, feeling light-headed. Everything starts to blur around you.

"Jack!" Melody shouts, crawling back to you quickly. "Are you awlright?"

"Yeah, I'm fine." You say, then quickly amend it with: "No, that's a lie." And then, you pass out and everything goes black.

When you wake up, you're in a hospital bed. The sun's shining through the windows of the small room you're in. You look down and see you are in a hospital gown, although most of you is tucked in under the covers. You wonder just how long you've been out.

You look to your right and see Melody fast asleep in a chair. She is snoring lightly and her leg twitches every few minutes. You smile when you see her there. You know she was probably the room the whole time you were. There was a balloon tied to the arm of the chair that said: "I'm sorry."
