A pack of drones

"LT! SWARMERS INBOUND!" Vos was at a full sprint back towards the platoon her soldiers close on her tail. You looked past her and saw what she meant. Your HUD helpfully zoomed in on the small swarm of drones that was now heading your way. Obviously IAA.

The Asian Authority swarm drones as individuals weren't a threat. The problem was in the name. You had just a minute to decide what to do. The drone's weapons were weak but they had a lot of them. Your unit had a lot of firepower and armor so the best solution might be just to hunker down and try to turkey shoot them out of the sky. If you did that the drones might try to pick off your lighter members.

It took three drones to carry away an incapacitated soldier. If they managed to do that it would mean trouble. The only good thing about this situation was these weren't the more advanced variety of IAA drones, unaffectionately called waifubots. Those ones were monsters to deal with, especially for isolated troops.

These were obviously part of an automated hunter-killer tripwire. Killing that first drone had obviously set them off.

The drones drew closer and you had to decide how to deal with them.
