A peasant in a magical world.

Jules was a simple lad, not a dumb one. He got up, did the day’s work, sometimes went out to the market for whatever odds or ends he might need or want, and then he spent the rest of the day either exploring the surrounding countryside or relaxing in his room at the farmhouse he’d been lucky enough to find work at when he blew into down a number of years ago.

The 20 year old young man was single, something his playful but wise boss, the 40-something year old widower Ms. Delilah often poked fun at him over. It’s not that he wasn’t attractive, with tanned skin, messy black hair, and a lithe frame that was still strong enough to help with the farm work. It just wasn’t where his head was at. Unfortunately, his head was usually way above the rest of him, thinking about the magic and monsters than ran rampant throughout the world he lived in. He sure wasn’t a wizard, and he wasn’t no dragon-slayer either, but thinking about casting spells and seeing dragons and Minotaurs and all the other wondrous things he’d heard so many stories about... that kept his head up in the clouds most days.

Little did he know, that today was the day Jules was going to have a run in with one the things he’d so often dreamed about! Just, not exactly in the way he’d have expected.
