10+: Suggest a satisfying performance

Planting your feet flat on the floor, you lean forward, resting your elbows on your knees. Kate gazes at you and waits. After clearing your throat, you begin to speak in a slow, measured cadence.

"I believe, that in my current capacity, in my current role, in my current assignment, that I am performing about as well as I can. Certainly I could eke out an extra percentage point or two, but clearly, I am nowhere close to where I need to be to make my performance satisfactory to you. I want you to be satisfied."

Kate raises an eyebrow at this, but says nothing. As you consider what you are about to say next, your stomach flutters, and you hear a faint buzzing in your ears. You take a quick mental inventory of whether you really mean what you are about to say and whether you are fine with it, and decide that you are. You continue.

"The only thing I can think of at the moment to increase my value to you is to perform other jobs. Additional services. I want to leave you completely satisfied ... with my performance."

At the emphasis on the word completely, both of Kate's eyes flare wide open in surprise. Her expression grows quizzical, then shrewd. You give her your best smolder as you hold eye contact.

Without speaking, Kate stands up, and walks over to the doorway. She scans the cubicles outside the office quickly, then quietly closes the door and locks it. She closes the blinds over a floor-to-ceiling window in the wall next to the door, then walks over to the outside window and draws the blinds there as well. Finally, she walks over to stand about a foot away from you. Looming over you, she crosses her arms, cocks her hips so her weight is primarily on one leg, and looks down at you.

"Alright, hotshot. Consider this an interview with one rule: if I say stop, you stop, and you leave. That work for you?"

You nod.

She continues to stand over you, arms crossed, but does not continue speaking.

You know that Kate values independent thinking, proper situation analysis, quick action, creativity, crisp execution, and determination, all of which lead to (in her words) "bold moves that work." You know also that your next action walks a thin line. Kate is not going to give you anything else to go on, but she expects you to do something unexpected, something out of left field but still within the ballpark of reasonable behavior, and to do that something quickly.

Twisting your upper torso to the right, you drop your right knee to the floor as well, then your hands. With small movements and without touching her, you crawl counterclockwise around her. She continues to watch you, her head turning to her left and tracking with you as go. Her frown is lessened, but still present. When your head is directly behind her Kate swivels her head to the right, so that she can continue to watch you circumnavigate without moving any of the rest of her body, just as you suspected she might. In that portion of a second where she cannot see you, you make your move.

Leaning in, you lightly press your lips directly in the center of the soft skin on the back side of Kate's right knee. The leg immediately stiffens, and you hear the whisper-quiet gasp of her breath catching as a minute tremor ripples through her body. You maintain this contact, unmoving, for several long seconds, then pull away an inch, just far enough that you can quickly moisten your lips before kissing her again in the same place, this time more firmly. In the quivering silence of the room, a sharp gulping intake of breath above you brings attention to the fact that you were both holding your breath for the preceding three seconds. Again you hold the kiss, though this time instead of motionlessness it is done in slow motion, the pursing and pressing and releasing of pressure stretching over five long seconds as the skin of her legs raises into goosebumps around it and the blood vessels throb under it. As the kiss curves into nonexistence, in a seamless motion you pull your head away from her skin, and the breaking of contact triggers another miniscule shuddering of motion.

You look up to see if Kate is still watching you, and discover that she is not. Her body straightened from its hip-cocked stance when she stiffened, and she is now standing with equal weight on the balls of both feet, knees locked and shoulders back and face straight forward and slightly upturned. Placing your fingertips lightly on the upper outsides of her calves and returning your attention to her head, you gently press in the pads of your fingertips and move your hands slightly downward, guiding her heels back to the floor. She naturally continues the relaxing motion, her knees unlocking and legs returning to a natural stance as her shoulders loosen and drop. You continue to watch closely as the tension slowly unwinds and her breathing loses some of its ragged edges. This continues for a time that is difficult to determine - certainly many seconds, but probably not minutes - and the only sound in the room is of breath in the air and blood in the ears. The instant you see the beginning of her dropping a shoulder and turning her head, you make your next move, this time on her left knee.

This time you touch her leg first with the tip of your tongue dead in the center of the back of her knee for just a fraction of a second before your lips make contact and execute a procession of kisses that are neither still nor slow. With the initiation of contact comes another breath betraying her total surprise, a deep full-throated inhalation akin to the long-awaited gulp of a swimmer breaking the surface of the water. Simultaneously, her knees buckle as her generally-relaxed body crumples. She catches herself with both hands on the table, and either lacks the interest or the ability to straighten back out into standing as you kiss her and her body trembles.

Kate seems receptive and aroused. It is time to go all in.
