In a village with a witch

Thera was a beautiful young woman, fancied by many of the men in her local village. However, if any of these men knew that the lady they lusted after was a witch, they’d probably have second thoughts.

Now, in this world witches are not all ugly old hags. Thera’s beauty was just as natural as her magical abilities. However, her good looks had a tendency to drive some of the common men mad, so much that she had to discreetly use her magic on more than one occasion to protect herself. Truly, her powers were a gift, a gift that she wished all women could have.

Sadly, witches could not give ordinary folk magic. You were either born with it or you weren’t. Thankfully, though, magic could only be wielded by women and not men, who already held more than enough power in this medieval world. Thera watched as so many other pretty young ladies were forced to be submissive and obey the orders of abusive men. Even the kindest men viewed women as being below them to some extent.

Tired of sitting back in the shadows as a passive observer, Thera decided it was time to take matters into her own hands. She began to work on a spell that would take away power from men, thus giving more power to women.
