True Power. Let the Seal be broken

Chapter 73 by Colleem Colleem

As soon as the Dracula with its 2 brides had left the portal, its women sank to their knees. He himself felt a little dull but he would never admit such weakness to his wives. However, he also felt a great deal of pride. Today he had truly earned his title. He was the true son of the dragon. And he could also be very proud of his two wives. Especially Zatanna had done very well. He had expected nothing else from Talia. In a fighting situation she was simply in her element. Nevertheless she had supported Zatanna without hesitation and proved that they worked well together. Now it was time for them to rest. After a few minutes the three had arrived in their room and only here Talia allowed herself the luxury to weaken. She immediately fell on a couch and Zatanna also collapsed powerless on an armchair. Dracula, on the other hand, sat down on the bed and looked at them.

"I am very proud of you my brides! Never before had I had such capable, beautiful and impressive women at my side.

Zatanna was so dull that she could hardly keep her eyes open and just nodded and Talia raised a hand laughing and raised her thumb. More did not come from her either.

Looking to the window he could see the night coming to an end and on TV they could see Vicky Vale showing an exclusive report about the fight in the Narrows. Thanks to her convincing skills she had enough witnesses in front of the microphone who convincingly reported a fight between a dragon and Batman. Thanks to her camera team there were also more than enough recordings of the dragon but not a single one of Dracula.

Even Talia had to admit that it had been a brilliant move by Vicky to disguise her identity. This report would further undermine Batman's reputation, especially as Vicky completely avoided blaming Batman for the dragon this time. She played her role as a neutral reporter flawlessly and yet here and there she almost imperceptibly cast doubt on the reportage.

"Master? Will it be like that again tonight" Talia finally asked and straightened up on the sofa.

"Unfortunately, I don't know. Are there any more creatures like this... killer Croc?"

Zatanna shook her head. "No such no. However, there are still different meta creatures in the city. No idea how they will react to the bite. But dearest... may I ask you something?"

"But of course my beautiful magician. My beloved women can always raise their voices. I will always have an ear for you". He nodded benevolently and Zatanna´s Eyes glowed with these words.

"When Killer Croc appeared... you prepared a spell. But I didn't perceive it. What spell was that?"

Dracula straightened up and smiled. "Follow me to the roof. It's time I showed you the spell."

Both women followed him curiously and as they climbed up the stairs Candy joined them as well. She felt drawn to this man in an indescribable way. He had an animal aura she couldn't escape. She was aware of the superior grin of the other two women but that didn't stop her from following them. As the 4 stood on the roof of the Iceberg Lounge, Dracula detached herself from the group and went all into the center of the roof. As soon as he arrived there he spread his hands and stretched his head to the sky.

"Release of the seventh seal. Potential release of all powers. Category 1 recognized" he said and with every word he spoke an invisible vortex became stronger around him. Zatanna became scoffy with one blow as she could feel Dracula unleashing indescribable amounts of magical power. Whatever he did there. It was beyond anything mortal or immortal beings could ever release.

Even Candy could sense that something great was going on, and Talia, who also didn't know much about magic, could feel it coming up. "Zatanna? What's going on here," she finally screamed, as the hurricane around Dracula had grown into a thundering storm.

"He releases the seventh seal. He reveals all his power to us! WE WILL SEE OUR TRUE MASTER" Zatanna breathed reverently and sank to her knees.

"Master? Why now?" Talia screamed and fought against the urge to also fall to her knees. Candy lay drooling on the floor for a long time and her face had an expression of absolute lust.

Dracula, however, did not respond to their calls and his eyes glowed red. His power increased with every second and when he closed his fists he was just gone. Even Talia, probably the fastest of all vampires next to him, hadn't felt, seen or perceived any movement. He was just gone. But just when they wanted to say something, you could see a change in the sky. Clouds gathered early in the morning with incredible speed and covered the whole sky. Within minutes it was dark night as no sunbeams could penetrate this dense curtain. Here and there a flash of lightning flashed through the clouds, illuminating the sky for a few seconds in an eerie purple light. Nothing about this storm seemed natural. Neither the speed nor the colour of the lightning.

"Zatannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnaaaa." Talia stammered in panic. The sudden disappear from her master and in addition this storm. It all seemed extremely disturbing. But before Zatanna could answer, dozens of lightnings flickered at once and united over the tallest building, Wayne Tower. But instead of disintegrating or hitting the building, they swirled around like chain flashes forming a hundred meter pentagram of energy. In the center of this pentagram was a flaming face. It didn't take long for a widely visible face of Dracula to descend from the clouds out of fire.

Zatanna and Talia stared in disbelief at this demonstration of raw power. The pentagram exploded in a swarm of bats spread across the city in their thousands. More and more bats streamed out of a dark black mass and spread Dracula's voice all over the city. However, it was almost impossible to ignore them or overlook the huge face.

"Mortal inhabitants of the city of Gotham. Your city was cursed. I, Vlad Tepes, Draculea, Prince of Wallachia, am here to eradicate this plague. Know that I am not here to save you, but to eradicate this plague. As soon as the sun lowers its light on the horizon, I will have no more pity for those who are still in this Cursed Place. This will be the only warning. Flee as long as I give you the opportunity."

The voice thundered not only through the air but also resounded in the spirits of the inhabitants. Every inhabitant within the city had heard this news and for the rest of the day Gotham was shrouded in darkness and the flaming face of Dracula enthroned far above the city.

And with this demonstration of power, it was no wonder that many residents took this warning seriously. All day long there were traffic jams and narrow places on all streets leading out of Gotham. Until the last second the people crowded out of the city only to see the last rays of the sun disappear on the horizon.

As soon as the sun disappeared a shock wave came from the flaming face. A ring of fire swept through the dark clouds and burned them completely. Never before had there been such a starry night in Gotham. It was beautiful in an eerie way. But when the Fire Ring reached the city limits, it changed more and more. The rivers that surrounded the city began to burn and the bridges that crossed those rivers began to melt. The seaside of the city had been hit much harder. There formed more than 3 dozen water lilies which completely sealed off the bay of Gotham from the sea. Boats, ships and even warships were lifted out of the water like toys and crashed onto the piers. The number of fatalities had to go into the thousands. To the horror of the inhabitants who had remained, they were now all trapped within the city limits. In a melting pot of death and ruin.

Out of nowhere, Dracula suddenly stood again on the roof of the Iceberg Lounge and smiled at his wives. Both had waited there all day and Candy had also waited there. She had even given them her blood so they could recover a little.

But even this demonstration of power had not weakened Dracula in the slightest. He stood there calmly looking down at the city.

"From now on... there are no more innocents! From now on... we don't take any more consideration of my brides. Go and bring me food" he demanded then and watched as both women left immediately. Slowly he turned around and looked down at Candy who was still kneeling on the floor. "Say child! Who am I" he smiled arrogantly at her.

"You are Count Dracula! My only true master" breathed Candy.

Meanwhile on the Watchtower.

The members of the Justice League looked stunned at the monitors. They could see what was going on in Gotham. Thanks to Vickies suburban reportage they knew exactly what was going on. Many of the younger heroes had gathered around Wonder Woman, Power Girl, Superman, Green Lantern, and J´onn Almost all of the heroes currently stationed on the space station looked spellbound at the dragon that was fighting its way through Gotham. Many looked stunned at the greatness and power of this being.

Power Girl was furious before all the others and then took off when she hit a console with her fist which of course exploded under this force. Everyone looked at her now and Power Girl began to float.

"What do you have before Karen?" asked Wonder Woman. "You know Gotham is quarantined. We must not go there!

"HOW PLEASE? Are you crazy? Did you just see that or are you blind?" Karen hissed angrily towards the Amazon princess but she stayed calm and just folded her arms in front of her chest.

"I did. But Bruce is there and he will get this thing small already.

"Oh yeah? Look at that PRINCESS! And tell me what this is going to be? You don't think anybody's gonna get killed?"

"Yes, because Batman is more capable than you think Karen is." Diana continued to say calmly. The last thing that could be needed now was a fight on the station.

"Oh... WHO TALKS THE BATMAN OF BATMAN OF THE TOTALLY KUH! THERE ARE NIGHTWING, RED HOOD, ZATANNA AND ROBIN! You only think of the great Batman but what about his team members? For such threats WE are there. And you here. YOUR ALL THINKS THAT THE BATMAN IS COMING WITH KLAR?" she hissed now angrily and turned in the air to the others. "Batman has saved every one of us here before. You think he can handle it because he's not calling for help like any of us would?! THAT IS BATMAN! He would never call for help. HE WILL DIE LONELY! AND THAT ONLY BECAUSE WE, HIS FRIENDS, TRUST HIM TO DO EVERYTHING. DOES YOU KNOW WHAT? YOU PISS ME OFF! I'M GONNA GO DOWN THERE AND HELP HIM NOW! NO MATTER IF HE WANTS HER OR NOT! BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT FRIENDS DO! AND EVERY ONE OF YOU THE HERE'S LIVING..." slowly she landed on the ground and looked around. "I'm just saying... you're cowards letting your friends down!"

"WHAT IS YOU FALLING YOU ON!" Diana yelled now but before she could arm herself the angry blondie was already on her and had grabbed her by the throat and lifted her up.

"YOU from all the others... from YOU I would have expected more. But you know what... I can't understand what he finds in a woman like you. And now you have to decide whether you want to stop me or not. Because I'm going to save a friend now." She let Diana fall to the ground again and went towards the docking bay. As she walked past Clark, she nodded to him.

"I wish you all the best. I hope you understand I can't come with you."

"I know that, Clark. You are an ideal that you must uphold. But I am not you! I hope to see you again. I will save him."
