Chapter 6 by JerkGently JerkGently

The things we learn

(Alex) Our place in time

Alex's first class was biology. She sidled in toward the back and took a seat near a familiar spiky-haired head. He greeted her jovially and neither asked nor was surprised when she reached over, undid his fly, and began non-committedly stroking his cock. The teacher droned on about this and that… How it was ‘surprising but fortunate’ that humans’ low rates of fertility had also seemed to correspond with an ‘inviability of the kinds of sexually-transmitted diseases that plagued other primates.’ Alex yawned… they must have already been over this a thousand times. Though, watching her own hand bobbing up and down the nearby meaty shaft… Imagine if this kind of thing could make you ill?! The whole population would be dead within a week…

Chris, the owner of her current plaything, was one of Alex's three current ‘suitors’. Three seeming a good number to have as a girl of her standing. He was a bit foppy and skater-boi-esque, but he was fun to hang around with and not particularly demanding of her time or body. She had probably let him fuck her more often than any of the others because of this… Good things came to those who didn't whine for it all the time. In fact last week she'd let him and all his douchebag friends have a go in the back of his uncle's pickup… Under the glittering starlight. That night had got a little out of hand...

Alex didn't know EXACTLY what she wanted to do with her life yet… But she knew she wanted to pace herself for the moment. Possibly-lucky womb or not, she wanted to at least TRY to get through college before popping a baby out. A difficult prospect when every boy who even looked at her was already naming the potential twins she might have the ever-so-slight chance of bearing them. The urge to reproduce was paramount, that was one of the the fundamentals of biology she fully understood. Their whole culture was built around it after all. Their whole society arranged by it.

She thought back to the difference between how she and Gracey were treated as compared to Simone. The blessings she was granted as heir to her mother, but also pressure she was under to be as fruitful as her…

It had only been recently that she'd understood how shrewd her parents had been in not unveiling the paternity of the twins. Most children were tested almost automatically due to a plethora of potential fathers wanting to claim that THEIRS was the magic shot in the dark that caused this miracle… Thereby far increasing their chances with a better calibre of baby-hungry women. Alex's dad was PROBABLY also the twins’ father, seeing as no other convincing claimant had come forward. But the POTENTIAL for it to have been ANY of the multitude of men their mother had slept with gave every one a shared boost in standing, really. A sort of mexican stand-off of already fired pistols. This, in turn, meant Mom herself maintained an entire selection of grateful patrons and ever-hopeful well-wishers, even though she had not actually produced another child since.

Alex had watched all this play out around her as she grew up and steadily realised what an invisible gift she'd been given… and unavoidable destiny she'd been cursed with. The whole world looked toward her with sparkling eyes… Weighing the sway of her hips and swell of her breasts. She was a curving bastion of hope toward the next generation… How awful it would be to let down all those prayers...

Di's face popped into her mind for an instant… And Alex felt a silent tear accompany it, as always. Where, oh where… had her big sister gone?

A morning's Grace
