Prevailing palate

By now you'd grown somewhat accustomed to having the probe inserted, and the large phallic-shaped device was soon sliding past your sphincter, and up through your rectum with relative ease. Deeper and deeper it continued into the inner recesses of the colon. The Grey doctor monitored the progress on a nearby panel, and only after it was buried far within your large intestine did he finally stop its advancement. Prior to being aboard the Starpoint, being subjected to such a deep penetration would have seemed painful, perhaps even terrifying, but now it almost seemed normal, and in fact you even relished the tantalizing sensations from the insertion.

"To confirm my suspicion, I will now activate a special function of the probe," announced the Grey doctor. "Let me know what sensations you feel. I will continue to monitor the probe readings as well."

Suddenly, you tasted something very sweet and delicious, a flavor you now craved very strongly. However, the sensation didn't seem to originate from your tongue. Rather, it was as if you had another way to detect flavor, down below your stomach. "I'm tasting something sweet, but not with my tongue. It seems to be coming from down here," you explained, and rubbed an area along the middle and left of your abdomen, just below your stomach."

"That's good," announced the doctor, without explaining why. After a short delay, he added, "These readings are remarkable. Your unique physiology allows us to observe the natural function of the Cuni colon isolated from the stomach."

"Are you telling me that I'm some kind of a fancy lab rat? Does it explain this new sense of taste or my hunger?"

"Indeed!" the doctor proclaimed, and he proceeded to bring up a 3D image of your inner body showing the position of the probe deep within your abdomen. "This area of the Cuni colon is lined with taste buds specifically tuned to the flavor of semen." He highlighted the colon area surrounding the probe. "By activating a special function, the probe injected a tiny amount of semen which triggered your taste sensation. Furthermore, it appears that the Gargo tissue included to help with tissue regeneration has had an unexpected side effect, leading to the Cuni taste buds effectively overriding the flavor detection of the those on your tongue."

That likely explained why the semen had continual tasted better each time. If you were **** to drink semen for the rest of your life, at least your taste buds would find it appetizing. On the other hand, did this mean you would permanently lose your normal sense of taste? And what about that sense of hunger? "So that explains the taste, but what about feeling hungry?" you asked.

"That's the remarkable thing," he replied. "Up to now, it was assumed in the Cuni anatomy that chemicals and hormones released by the stomach were solely responsible for the hunger sensation, and any related sensations were a side effect of those chemicals subsequently reaching the colon. However, based on these readings, it's evident that the Cuni's colon produces these sensations in absence of those stimuli. This is an astonishing revelation!" He was so excited by this that he seemed to be bouncing ever so slightly on his short legs.

"You're saying my colon is hungry? For semen? Pardon me if I don't share your enthusiasm."

"Yes, that's right," he responded. "It may not seem important to you, but consider the ramifications. The majority of our probe development is performed with Cuni test subjects, and up until now the measurements have assumed, incorrectly, that any hunger sensations detected in the colon were a side effect of other stimulus produced from the stomach. This new finding may increase the accuracy of certain probe readings by at least an order of magnitude! Decades of new papers and further research will likely result from this as well."
