Morning sickness

Weeks after Wyndham had taken her virginity, Alice realized something wasn't quite right. She felt changes in her body, as if they were adjusting for something. But they weren't bad changes - in fact, they kind of made her feel good. One morning, right after breakfast, she had an incredibly strong urge to throw up. She had just made it to the bathroom in time to hug the porcelain god for all it was worth as her breakfast flooded the bowl.

When she was done heaving, she stood up, washed her face, and looked in the mirror. It was then she came to the sudden realization that she just might have a baby growing inside of her. She looked down at her flat tummy, then gently caressed it.

"What am I going to do now?" she asked herself. She knew her parents would be angry, and they would demand to know who the father was. Could she honestly tell them that it was Mr. Wyndham's baby? What would her dad do? What would her mother say? First things first, she had to talk to Wyndham, since he was the one responsible for her condition.

"Alice? Are you all right?" came her mother's voice outside the bathroom door.

"Yeah, I'm fine, mom." she quickly answered. She gathered her courage, opened the door, and smiled at her mom. "I think I might have a touch of the flu. But I feel much better now." she consoled her mother.

Her mother took Alice into her arms, and hugged her sympathetically. "Why don't you stay home today, and take it easy?"

"I think I'll do that, mom." she replied. "I don't really feel up for going out today. " This was the opening Alice had hoped for. Once her mother left for work, she'd have the house all to herself. She could call or text Wyndham, and let him know he was going to be a father. But before she did that, she wanted to make sure. She had to get a pregnancy test.

"Why don't you go lay down, and I'll see you after I get home from work?" said her mother.

"Okay, mom." she answered. "I'll see you when you get home." That being said, Alice retreated to her room, and waited for her mom to leave. When she was sure her mom had left, she headed for the local pharmacy, where she purchased a pregnancy test. Once back home, she peed on the stick, and waited for the results. A pale purple line appeared on the stick, indicating that Alice was indeed pregnant. She looked at herself in the mirror again. "I'm going to have a baby." she said to her reflection. She rubbed her tummy, and suddenly smiled. "I'm going to have a baby!" All of a sudden, she found herself excited by the idea. If her parents kicked her out, so be it. She wanted to have this baby, even if it meant going through it alone.

Alice went back to her room, and sat on her bed. She picked up her phone, and sent a text to Wyndham. "Thought u should know... I'm preggers" she wrote, then hit send, waiting for a response.
