“No thanks.”
“Based off the reports from the authorities, Wotterburth is already in the body of a **** girl," Kerr had leaned forward to keep the words from traveling, and now sat back and adjusted his robes as the food arrives. "We don't know about the crew, though, got to watch out for it."
Taking a few drags of the sewer tea, Kerr finds it a lot less disgusting than its name. He waved away the smoke, though. "No, I want to be alert. The food is not bad. And besides, I checked before we left. The slaver team should be arriving first thing tomorrow. I suggest we bunk down for a few hours and..."
Kerr's eyes and voice began wandering as a new crew of slavers arrived, the last for the night as the fort gates were shut. There was a hugely obese man riding a lizard, with two heavy bangles around his thick wrists. The bangles were made of seamless, solid gold, and set into the bangles were thin silvery chains connected to a leather collar about a naked slavegirl. The effect was of an octopus with many tentacles and claws. As the lizard and the girls proceeded through the street, the fat man chortled and called out.
"Slaves! Slaves for sale! Pre-loved, very docile, very beautiful! Up for auction tomorrow, ready for rent tonight!"
Kerr remembered to shut his mouth and turned back to Klim. "You want one to warm your bed for tonight? I'll sleep alone, rest just in case there's trouble. We've got enough gold to buy one outright, **** her with ****-herb, then swap with Wotterburth tomorrow..."
