Assessing Belle's offer

You were shocked at Belle's offer. In Earth's distant past, people had been slaves against their will, or sometimes were servants out of necessity, but it was almost never something one would submit to voluntarily. Why was she doing this for simple articles of clothing? This wasn't making sense.

"Belle, please stand up," you suggested.

"Belle present self for examination," she replied and stood fully revealing her gorgeous naked body, but she tilted her head down submissively.

"That's not what I mean," you responded. "Please look at me. I want to speak with you face to face."

Belle slowly tilted her head up, and looked at you warily with an expression of obedience mixed with apprehension.

"That's better," you began. "Before I make any kind of agreement, I need to know some details. First of all, why are these garments so important? Don't they have other sets of clothing they can wear instead? Second, I want to know more details about what led to the events yesterday, and what happened afterward. Finally, I want to understand why you decided to come here alone."

A puzzled expression crossed Belle's face, but then she began to provide the details. "Here on ship, Cunis only have one set of clothes. Not need more. It disrespectful to the Grey hosts to damage or lose them. Also, Cunis ridicule other Cunis that lose or forget to wear them. That why clothes is important to Cunis."

Only one set of clothes? That seemed absurd. How did they keep them clean or from wearing out? Wouldn't wearing the same outfit everyday get rather boring?

Belle continued by describing the events from yesterday from her perspective. "Lily tell Belle about new alien named Sky with nice cock. At this point, Belle began sobbing, "Lily, Onyx and Raven very upset that Belle not stay to help. Belle say it bad idea to catch Sky. That reason we get hurt and clothing lost or damaged. Lily get more angry and say Belle no longer friend. Belle cry and leave. Belle look for clothes, but hallway cleaned. Belle fall asleep in corner of dining room. Belle come to see if Sky has clothes and offer trade."

It was a lot to process, but it mostly made sense. Belle had recognized it was "mean" to attack you, but she followed Lily's plan due to their friendship. Lily's threat to end that friendship had spurred Belle to find a way to resolve this alone, and she'd gone so far as to offer herself into servitude to you.

"Thank you for explaining it, Belle" you replied. "I was upset at being attacked, and I used the water with the intent of driving you off. I had no idea it would injure you. That was an accident. I also had no idea that these were your only garments, or how highly you regarded them. I appreciate your offer Belle, but you don't have to do this."

Belle looked confused. "Sky not accept Belle's offer?" She immediately dropped to her knees and began bawling loudly. "Belle is stupid. Belle is worthless Cuni. Belle not even worth a piece of clothing."
