She's Illusive

Sam arrived at an open stream, still hot on Mia's heels. He'd been chasing her for nearly ten minutes, but he just couldn't catch up to her. She had an impressive way of leaping and dodging. Clearly, he was chasing an athlete.

So, it was surprising, but not too surprising, when he realized that Mia was already waiting for him at the other end side of the stream. For the first time, he was able to see her entire frame, seemingly just as beautiful as her younger sister.

He froze. There was no obvious way to ford it. Had she just leapt over it? He couldn't do that in so much gear. To add to the defeat, Mia was bent forward sticking her tongue out at him.

"Mia, right?" He called out across the divide. That threw her. She put a finger to her lips.

"How do you know my name?"

"Because, I have your sister." Sam smiled. Perhaps if a clever trap wouldn't work, then persuasian might instead.

"Jun?"

"Yeah, I caught her and collared her. My name is Sam. Afterwards, She told me all about you. Now, it would be a shame if I took her home and didn't bring you with. What do you say? Wanna join her?"

Mia brought the rest of her hand her mouth. Frozen in place, she seemed so ****. There was the urge to try to cross while she was distracted. But, that would ruin his chance.

"If you hurt her, I'm going to cut your nuts off." Mia's face twisted to a fierce glare. "We understand."

He put a foot backwards from surprise. There was certainly a fire to her that Jun didn't quite have. She was fierce.

"Jun? She's sweet and adorable. She's like a puppy. Of course, I'm going to treat her well." Sam raised his hands, as though he had a gun pointed to him. But, as he spoke his frown twisted back to a flirtatious grin. "Still, I know she'd be happier if you were by her side."

"Good. You better protect her. And if you want me..." Suddenly, she turned and surged away. He blinked. The speed of her movement was blinding.

"You're going to have to catch me. No freebies." Her voice called backwards. A startled Sam was left searching for a way to ford the river in his heavy gear.
