No, Nothing Happened

The distance from your place and the Professor's is pretty short, but with how fast Lyra was pulling you, the three of you arrived in not time. Guess she was just really excited about you getting a Pokemon. Once at the Professor's front door, your old friend let go of your hand before turning back to smile.

"Alright, I will let you go in yourself." When you ask her why she's waiting out here her smile grows, "It's your special moment, getting to meet your new starter after all, I don't want to influence you or accidentally mess things up. Plus I want you to surprise me with who you pick." Well that's very nice of her. You nod at your friend and then head inside the building.

Once inside you get a full view of the messy lab, with papers falling out of their place and off of the tables. Despite the mess the other aids in the lab, one man and one woman, both seemed fine as they worked, with their boss, Professor Elm, in the back. Once your eyes land on him, you walk over to the professor and get his attention. When Elm feels you tap his shoulder, he tears his eyes from his computer and looks back at you.

"Oh! Its good to see you, Gold. Here for your Pokemon?" You give him an excited nod as the professor then nervously laughs and rubs the back of his head, "Sure thing, but I got to ask a favor of you before you do." You give the scatter brained professor a hesitant look as he then explains, "Well you see, a buddy of mine just recently messaged me and said he had something he wanted to give me, but I am pretty busy around here and so are my aids, so I was wondering if you would be so kind as to go see what my friend wants." When you keep giving him the same look the professor then quickly adds on, "It's nothing weird or anything, my friend is just really into Pokemon like me, so he helps me with research from time to time. I promise it won't take too long. Please?" You roll your eyes and finally relent when he gives yo that pitiful look. After you say yes the Professor's mood perks up as he then motions to a machine that has three Pokemon on it, "Thanks Gold, you're a real life saver. Now go on, pick who you would like to take."

When you walk over to the machine, you look at the three Pokeballs, thinking on who to pick. After a little while, the Professor then chimes in.

"There's the defensive Chikorita, who's good with wearing opponents down over time, the shy Cyndaquil who grows into a Pokemon very similar to Kanto's Charizard, and then there's the water type Totodile who is great for offense." Once he is done explaining all of that, he then smiles at you, "So who do you pick?"
