Chapter 6

How do you handle the news?
Solemnly
Your eyes close and you lay your head back onto the pillow, your mind is racing as you think of all the people you once knew, your family, your friends, all of them, dead.
“W-What about the other volunteers? The others that were part of the cryo project?” You ask as you open your eyes again with a few tears welling up but not coming out.
“T-They....” the doctor pauses not sure how to break it to you. After a moment she decides the best way is to straight out tell you. “Your pod was the only one online.”
This news does not help you at all, your heart feels like it’s been ripped out, literally everyone you ever knew was gone, even the people who were in cryo next to you didn’t make it. You close your eyes again and weep softly, not full on sobbing but small sniffles as you come to terms with your situation.
After crying for a while you open your reddened eyes. “Can I get up?” You pose the question to her, not sure what kind of situation this is being treated as but you didn’t want to waste away on a bed.
“Yes, actually that’s why I’m here, the Holy family wants to meet you, you are the most ancient being we know of an you hold information about the past we have lost, I also came in to check on your neural implant, you didn’t have one so we assumed the technology hadn’t been developed yet, let’s test it out first before we go.” She finished telling you the plan as she undoes your restraints letting you sit up.
How does the test go?
