You look in the mirror

The light flickers on, illuminating the tiny room with a vaguely greenish fluorescent glow. The walls are smokey grey. There is a grey laminate countertop with a sink in it to your left, and a small mirror on the wall above it. You can't see yourself in the mirror from your position on the floor, so you grab hold of the toilet seat and pull yourself up to a kneeling position. A fresh wave of pain courses down your spine, making you wince and your muscles seize. You feel suddenly dizzy and light-headed, and you lean over the toilet for support. You can see a dark shadow outlining the contours of your face in the water, but you can't make anything out clearly.

After the wave of dizziness subsides, you pull yourself up to a sitting position on the toilet. The mirror is still too high up and at too far an angle for you to see yourself from a sitting position. Fortunately, the toilet is very close to the counter, so you should have no trouble pulling yourself up to a standing position.

Once you have recovered your energy and your balance, you grab hold of the counter and heave yourself up to your feet, pushing against the floor with what little strength you are able to muster from your legs. A wave of vertigo hits you and suddenly everything goes dark. You waver on your feet and nearly fall over, but your firm grip on the countertop keeps you upright. After a moment, your vision clears again and you finally get a good look at yourself in the mirror.
