Alexis’ Blind Date

Alexis sat down and thanked the hostess, who promptly walked back to the front of the cafe.

Alexis swallowed and smoothed her dress, drank a sip of ice water, and looked around the cafe. Sleek design, lots of open space but also a few alcoves for more private dining. Well lit but cozy. People, mostly couples, seemed to be enjoying a nice experience. The guy had good taste.

She quick checked her phone, 3:03. Whoever she was meeting was supposed to be here 3 but the hostess had said nobody was waiting. So Alexis had taken the initiative to sit at a table and she was starting to regret it. What if the guy didn’t know she was here?

Again, Alexis smoothed her dress and checked her appearance on her phone’s camera. She looked great with her should-length honey-blonde hair and green eyes. Her green floral dress with little yellow and blue flowers looked great on her and hugged her ample chest and toned abdomen nicely. 3:08.

Where was this guy?

She sent a quick text to Stacy. “did he chicken out?”

Stacy immediately replied. “just wait you won’t be disappointed! Keep an open mind!”

An open mind? What did that mean?

Alexis and Stacy had met a few years ago on a swimsuit photo shoot. Stacy was petite and full of energy with short brown hair and a dazzling smile. The two had hit it off immediately. Now they were both 27 and ready for a new chapter in their lives. Alexis had supported Stacy when she broke up with her boyfriend, an abusive misogynist who didn’t deserve Stacy’s love. Stacy in turn had supported Alexis’ quest to find a boyfriend of her own. Easier said than done.

Then suddenly, last week, Stacy had blown up Alexis’ phone saying that she had found her blonde friend the “perfect match” and that “she was going to love them.” Alexis trusted her friend and agreed to meet 5is mystery man.

Alexis almost jumped out of her skin, she had zoned out for a minute and in that time someone had walked up to her table.

She blinked and put on her most winning smile and looked up at the voice.
