I could catch them by sundown i was sure. No need to go to the mountain, it was far off and many days travel. I rode the horse hard looking for what trails I could see as the Hobgoblins spread out through the forest.

There, the one with the fancy head dress with feathers.

I rode him down and left off the horse. I grabbed him by the throat as I pushed my sword into his chest so that he felt the tip cut him. “Where is my woman! Tell me or I’ll kill you all!”

Trying not to **** from my grasp he laughed, “You, you’re too late as he pointed in the sky. I glanced up and there was a winged humanoid beast holding a woman, and I could tell it was Shar, the thin build the clothing. Though it was far in the sky I knew it was her. I glanced down at him and he said. “She will be at Hore by night fall, you’ll never see her again.” He was going to say something else but I ran my blade through his chest. Killing him. I dropped his body as I glanced up to see the winged creature get smaller in the far distance. I could not match the speed of that.

I pushed the horse but it stumbled as the forest got dark with night fall.

I looked at it to see if it had broke its leg. It did not, it simply,stumbled over the thick roots and low lying branches. It was back up. By then enough of my rage had been spent that I could think more then be driven to save my first love. We didn’t even get to have our first night together. Oh how I longed to be with her, to make love all night long with her.

I was driven though, I would make it to the Pit of Hore, and I would bring her back. There was no creature alive that could stop me from making this happen.
