Relationship Roulette

Bobby Gillian knew coming home to Charolettesville with his new girlfriend, Leah Gardner, would be a little awkward. But he was fairly certain she was the one for him. His mom, Karen, would adore her immediately and he was pretty sure his sister Elizabeth would practically make Leah her best friend. And Bobby was absolutely sure his brother Zack would be jealous as sin of Bobby’s luck. Dad was the tough sell though, he liked vetting everyone the family interacted with.

“Bobby?” Leah said from the passenger seat.

“Yeah?”

“Are you sure they’ll like me?”

Bobby smiled and took his hand off the gear shift to put it on her leg. “They’ll love you as much as I do.”

Leah wrapped her fingers around his, then gained a saucy smile. “Well, I hope not too much like you.”

The car pulled innto the driveway and Leah got out to knock on the door while Bobby got the bags from the back. He pulled out the bags and closed the trunk just as the door started to open. He jogfed up the steps to the front door, just in time for Karen to squeal “Oh, you’re home!” and wrap her arms around Leah, smothering her in her bosom.

“Mom!” Leah whined. “You’re embarrassing me in front of my boyfriend!”

Karen stepped back and smiled. “Oh dear, that is a mother’s job!” She turned and looked at Bobby. “And you must be Robert. Come here and give me a hug!” Bobby put down the bags, wrapped his arms around Karen, and put a big sloppy kiss on her lips, not even being subtle when grabbed some of her ass in his palm. “Bad boy! Not in front of my kids!”

Leah scoffed. “Yeah ‘Daddy’, get a room.” She grabbed her bag and stomped inside, ignoring her mother’s boyfriend.

“Daddy-Daughter trip really didn’t work out Kare-bear.” Bobby said with a half-hearted chuckle.

Karen sighed. “I figured. You’re just too close to her age. Better come inside before my ex-husband comes to trade Elizabeth and Zack, I think they stopped at the movies.”

They went inside and saw Leah and Elizabeth chatting while watching tv. Bobby joined them on the couch while Karen went into the kitchen to make supper, giving his girlfriend Elizabeth a quick peck on the cheek before doing so.
