You want to see Luke deal with Axel

"I want to be there," you say. "Deal with him now, and then I'll go home." Luke seems to hesitate. "Unless you don't intend to do anything about him. Is that it? Is **** humans okay as long as you don't get caught?"

"No, it's not okay," Luke says, his voice gruff. "**** is never okay. You can watch if you wish, but keep out of sight. I don't know what Axel might try to do once he realizes he has nothing left to lose."

You follow on unsteady legs as the otter makes his way across the field, weaving between trees and blackberries until the two of you reach the gravel road. The violet orb sits in the middle of the road about twenty feet away, and you can see the wolf pacing back and forth in front of it.

"Stay here," Luke says, motioning for you to remain in a cluster of trees. You watch him stride up the road, walking with the confidence of a born leader. He doesn't hesitate as he approaches Axel, who is a full head taller than him and must out-weight him by fifty pounds.

"Sir, whatever he told you, the little fuck was lying," Axel snarls, the purple light gleaming off his bared teeth.

"I know, Axel," the otter says. "I talked to him. He's just like all humans."

The wolf looks surprised. "You believe me, sir? I thought--"

"I had to get him to trust me, now didn't I? The last thing we need is to start an inter-dimensional incident. We want them to welcome us into the universe, don't we?" He steps closer to the wolf and lowers his voice until you can no longer hear what he is saying.
