Chapter 11 by leroy leroy

Any more issues?

No

The nurse led Trace down past the hanger bay. It was obvious now that she was on a ship, a Venetor unless she missed her guess. The fact that she nor the Jedi were on the planet said something that she couldn't quite put together. It didn't matter anymore when the nurse brought her to the living area. After knocking on the door a male voice called for them to enter. They went inside and there she was. She was sitting next to a Twi'lek man in robes, the two of them seated and facing the door, he was obviously Elayne's master but he didn't matter. Trace only had eyes for Elayne. Without even thinking about it she fell to her knees and pressed her head to the floor. Bowing before the woman who had been her salvation. The nurse was saying something but she didn't hear him.

She felt something in her mind. It was hard to describe it but it wasn't evil. It was a gentle touch, a caress even, she wanted to melt into it, did for a moment, but it withdrew. When it did she could hear again.

"You say she threatened a man? That is highly unusual behavior for a clone. Isn't it master?" The voice was female. Elayne. It was beautiful.

"Yes, I have looked into her mind, it is her very obedience which made her act out. I can say with confidence that the captain will not have the same response if awoken. She is likely to look upon my padawan more favorably but without the same conditioning as a clone, she will be fine. Which brings us to the matter at hand. What to do with this one?" The Twi'leks voice was deep and Trace could tell he had been the one in her mind. There wasn't any cruelty in his voice, Elayne's master was obviously as kind and compassionate as she was. He had to be from spending time with her.

"Didn't she cause our front to collapse? Don't we have to punish her for that? I know **** isn't the Jedi way but she caused many of the others to be taken. The planet was lost." Elayne was asking for punishment. Trace knew she deserved it. It was only right.

"No. She had nothing to do with the collapse of our lines. She had been incapacitated by our own sides actions before the fighting started. Even when she finally awoke she held her ground as long as she could. She was tortured for information in ways that our own side made possible. You should not speak like that about another until you know their reasons. The dark side awaits those who judge quickly and without mercy." The master spoke, Trace wanted to hurt him for the way he spoke to Elayne but her limbs weren't obeying her. He had sensed her rage and had used his powers to restrain her. It wasn't her fault. He could feel the obsession within her mind. It was beyond his abilities to heal her of it but he could think of one way that it could be channeled for good. "My padawan this clone is your responsibility now. You sought to judge her, now you will control her fate. She will only follow orders from you and I will not allow her to be thrown away like a droid that is malfunctioning." Trace relaxed, no longer wanting to harm him. He was giving her everything she wanted.

"But master, I'm- yes master." A simple look from him had been enough to stop her protest. "I'll prepare a place for her to sleep in my room." Elayne was hoping that that statement would make him reconsider but was disappointed.

"I must go speak with the admiral, we shall be entering the system in two days. I have no doubt this clone will protect you with her life. Do not fail her, and do not fail yourself." With that he stood up and left, taking the nurse with him. Trace was left alone with Elayne who awkwardly told her that she could stop bowing. Trace set up her own sleeping spot. She knew she wouldn't be going to meet that officer tonight and that thought sent the corners of her mouth upward.
