After Ten Minutes of Consideration, the Sorting Hat seemed to have Finally Decided on which House You'd Join. ''I'm Stuck between Hufflepuff and Gryffindor. Ultimately though, it better be, GRYFFINDOR!

There was a Massive cheer from the Gryffindor table and some clapping from other tables, You weren't sure if it was louder than Harry's, but Quite Frankly you didn't care much. You then made your way to the table taking the seat opposite of Harry and Ron, and sitting next to Hermione, The Weasley twins shook your hand and so did the more polite Percy. Hermione shuffled uncomfortably as you sat next to her, fidgeting slightly.

After the cheers died down you saw a old man stand up that must be Dumbledore the Headmaster. He was beaming at the students, his arms opened wide, as if nothing could have pleased him more than to see them all there. "Welcome," he said. "Welcome to a new year at Hogwarts! Before we begin our banquet, I would like to say a few words." He literally said a bunch of stuff that you couldn't make heads or tails of. Shortly after"Thank you!" Dumbledore finished

You continued looking at Dumbledore as he noticed you and smiled, He Clapped his hands and out of nowhere food filled all of the tables You were only slightly amazed at that as you just looked at the food. This was an amazing treat, as amongst this food that you noticed. Roast Salt Beef, Bluff Oysters, Salmon Salad and Ribs, Vension , Mashed potatoes, Corn on the Cob, and Caviar.

You watched a ghost introduce himself to Harry his was name Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington. Resident ghost of Gryffindor Tower, and known as Nearly Headless Nick. "I know who you are!" said Ron all of a sudden. "My Brothers told me about you -- you're Nearly Headless Nick!" And there was the one student of the first years who heard of ol' Near Headless Nick. "I would prefer you to call me Sir Nicholas de Mimsy --" the Ghost began stiffly with indignation, but Seamus interrupted. "Nearly Headless? How can you be nearly headless?" Sir Nicholas looked extremely annoyed, clearly this was an unfortunately very Common Question.

"Like this" he said Butterly. He seized his left ear and pulled. His whole head swung off his neck and fell onto his shoulder as if it was on a hinge, well there was one bit of Sinew still intact, but Someone had clearly tried to behead him, but had done it quite improperly. Then Nearly Headless Nick flipped his head back onto his neck, coughed, and said. "So -- new Gryffindors! I hope you're going to help us win the House Cup Championship this year? Never in all my years as a Ghost of Hogwarts have Gryffindors gone so long without winning. Slytherins have got the cup six years in a row! The Bloody Baron's becoming almost unbearable -- he's the Slytherin ghost, and an Asshole at that." Says NHN (NHN=Nearly Headless Nick)

"Six Years, I take it it was all Fair play on tneir part?" You asked in mild disbelief.

Nick turned to face you "Slytherin are not the brightest people, but they are talented at Quidditch and yes, many of them play a dirty game out on the field, I'm just hoping there are some talented Quidditch players among you first years." He said looking at all the first year students "Hey!" The twins Fred and George said simultaneously in a Similar indignation to NHN's own one just minutes before.

"I meant we need more talent, you two are already talented. In your own Questionable way." Nick replied, saying the last bit softly and the twins smirked at each other. All of a sudden you heard Harry say "Ouch!" You all looked at Harry who had clapped a hand to his head. "What is it?" asked Percy.

"N-nothing." Replied Harry, you turned and looked at what Harry was looking at, In the corner of the room two teachers one had a turban faced towards the you and seemed to be talking to another teacher with greasy black hair. "Who's that teacher talking to Professor Quirrell?" Harry asked Percy while you continued to listen.

"Oh, you know Quirrell already, do you? No wonder he's looking so nervous, that's Professor Snape. He teaches Potions, but he doesn't want to -- everyone knows he's after Quirrell's job. Knows an awful lot about the Dark Arts, Snape." That conversation was sort of useful you had learnt of two teachers Professor Snape and Professor Quirrell, but you and Snape had already met.

Professor Dumbledore once again got to his feet again after the food disappeared, and as The hall fell silent once again. "Ahern -- just a few more words now that we are all well-fed fed and watered. I have a few start-of-term notices to give you. First years should note that the forest on the grounds is forbidden to all pupils. And a few of our older students would do well to remember that as well." Dumbledore's twinkling eyes flashed in the direction of the Weasley twins, And you had to stiffle a chuckle at that little hint.

"I have also been asked by Mr. Filch, the caretaker, to remind you all that no magic should be used between classes in the corridors. Quidditch trials will be held in the second week of the term. Anyone interested in playing for their house teams should contact Madam Hooch." You noted that in your memory, while also noting that you would have to remeber not to laugh at the woman's name. "And finally, I must tell you that this year, the third-floor corridor on the right-hand side is out of bounds to everyone who does not wish to die a very painful and ignominious ****." What on earth could be possibly on the third-floor in a school to cause a very painful ****. You thought silently.

Harry and Percy started talking again you caught some of the conversation. "The forest's full of dangerous beasts." He clearly had not told the prefects about the third-floor from what Percy was saying.

You once again felt Hermione's Hand brush against your own and looked at her, and she was looking away brushing furiously. You then turned to the Twins who simultaneously wiggled their eyebrows at you, but you just smirked and rolled your eyes.
