You look at yourself in the mirror, noting the small bags under your eyes from the lack of sleep tonight. Aside from that, the rest of you looked very handsome; neatly trimmed and clean hair, slight stubble, blue-grey eyes. Handsomeness was a luxury few could afford out on the colonies, however your position in the company granted you the right to that luxury, as well as a few other perks; a personal apartment with its own bathroom (No need to share with others), a livable salary, and better yet; a ticket back to Earth as soon as your 2 year shift of this hellhole was over.

With a sigh you go back into your sleeping quarters and decide to look outside through your viewing window. Opening the shutters a little you see exactly what you expected; blackness... Lots and lots of inky pitch blackness. The planet outside your window was famous for it's nights like that. The planet itself was little more than a dust ball on the surface, beneath the surface however was untold riches in ore and minerals; a perfect mining colony. The planet had an uninteresting company code; LV- something or rather, but the locals had called it Ebony due to the sheer darkness of its nights. Not a single star dotted the night, and the distant sun was hidden well below the horizon. You go to close the shutter only to pause as something catches your eye outside the window. Something metallic-like reflects the light of your bathroom. Only too late do you realize what it was; teeth... Metallic teeth.

There's the sudden sound of shattering glass and a scream of horror escapes your mouth as something darker than the night breaks through your window and grabs you. You feel something impact your head before your world is consumed by black nothingness.
