Occult Blade

You lay in the soft bedding inside of the eggshell "cacoon" having picked out something you think looks enticing particularly if you are going to be in the pod for a long time. Occult Blade is listed as a game in the vein of darksouls, a vast dark fantasy world full of exploration and brutally difficult combat. Apparently, the gimic of the game is that instead of dying and starting over like other games you get a progressive debuff for everytime you die and a buff when you use an item called an "essence" that will restore some of what you lost. It isn't very clear what the debuff is.
